Naperville Carillon Foundation Dissolves
After nearly two decades of work a local foundation is dissolving.
At their most recent meeting the Millennium Carillon Foundation decided to end their time as a formal foundation by filing paperwork with the state.
For the last year and a half the group has been handing off responsibility to the Park District and volunteers.
The foundation was started in 1998 and worked to get one of 600 carillons built right here in Naperville as a gift for generations of Napervillians to enjoy.
The public will still be able to enjoy recitals and tours through the carillon.

Summer Concerts from the Carillon
-Music from Moser Tower is playing all summer long.
Moser Tower isn’t just for show; the carillon it holds is playing concerts all summer long.
The bells of the Millennium Carillon rang over Rotary Hill, where an audience had set up lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the music.
This was the first of the carillon’s Tuesday night recitals, which feature a rotating cast of carillonneurs from all over the United States and even the world.
Brandon Blazo from Chicago played the first recital; this was also his first time playing our carillon.
“It’s not only playing it, you’re sharing your music with the community, there were people out on the lawn this evening, there are people downtown so it’s wonderful to play an instrument and share it,” said Blazo.
Carillon concerts also take place on Saturdays and Sundays, and they’re all free.
Naperville News 17’s Blane Erwin reports.
