Ringling Bros Circus St. Louis Missouri & America want YOU GONE!-Nation's Largest Cruelty Criminals
---RINGLING BROS. CIRCUS ARE THE LARGEST CRUELTY CRIMINALS IN U.S. HISTORY FINED $270,000 FOR 27 FEDERAL AWA VIOLATIONS AND CONVICTED BY GOVERNMENT FOR FEDERAL ELEPHANT TORTURE
--SEARCH-- CNN RINGLING ABUSE ON YOU TUBE FOR NEWS COVERAGE
Animals in the circus have not been asked to be there. They are stolen from the wild, babies ripped from their mothers and beaten into submission to perform. Elephants live a majority of their lives in chains. Tigers are crammed in into tiny cages for months on end. This atrocity must end now and we are putting a stop to it. But we can't succeed without you!
Contact Congress this week!
Ask your Representative in Congress to support and co-sponsor the Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act (H.R. 3359), a landmark federal bill that aims to protect elephants, tigers, bears and other wild animals from being forced to perform in traveling circuses.
What you can do:
It is easy to send an email and make a quick call to your member of congress today! Animal Defenders International is leading a big grassroots push to flood Congress with calls and emails. Even if you have already sent a message, please call today!
Please send an automated email message to your Representative in Congress by filling out a simple form online here. This form will find your Representative, and send him/her the appropriate message. At breakthechainus.org you will also find talking points and sample letters if you wish to personalize your email.
Then, please follow up with a quick call to Congress. Call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Representative's office. (Please do not call your Senator at this time as a companion bill in the Senate has not yet been introduced.)
Spread the word on Facebook and Twitter!
We want to hear from you! Please contact Animal Defenders International at usa@ad-international.org and let us know the response you get from your Representative so that we can effectively advance this important legislation.
Tips for calling your Representative:
Identify yourself and ask to speak with the staff/aide assigned to issues regarding wildlife and the humane care of animals.
Take note of their name and ask the aide to please pass along a message to your Representative that you are encouraging them to support and co-sponsor the Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act (H.R. 3359).
You may want to share some examples of why this bill is needed:
H.R. 3359 is necessary because no amount of expensive regulation will eliminate the serious threat circuses pose to public safety. Diseases including tuberculosis can be transmitted from animals to humans and animals such as lions, tigers and elephants have all been known to escape and have killed, maimed or injured circus workers, members of the public and children.
Regulation will not protect wild animals from a life of ongoing physical and social deprivation. Wild animals in traveling circuses endure confinement, long, grueling journeys, brutal control methods and physical violence.
Investigations have revealed circus animals are trained through domination using weapons including bullhooks, whips and electric shocking devices.
H.R. 3359 is an important animal protection measure that will relieve an enormous amount of suffering, will save resources and protect people.
Background about H.R. 3359
The Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act, H.R. 3359, will restrict the use of exotic and non-domesticated animals from traveling circuses in the United States.
The bill was introduced Nov. 2nd, 2011 by Congressmen Jim Moran (D-VA) and Bill Young (R-FL) and is gaining momentum with 23 co-sponsors and is currently awaiting a hearing in the House Ag Subcommittee of Livestock, Dairy and Poultry.
Celebrity protectionists Bob Barker and Jorja Fox were also present for the historic launch of this landmark bill for animal protection in the United States.

Primitive Technology: Freshwater Prawn Trap
I built a prawn trap from lawyer cane, sticks and vine. Then I caught some prawns and ate them.
Prawn (and fish) traps are simple traps designed to catch aquatic life due to their shape. It consists of a simple basket with a funnel shaped entrance. Prawns easily find their way into the trap as they are funneled in, but have difficulty finding the way out.
I wove the main body of the trap from lawyer cane then made the funnel from sticks with vines woven between them. The funnel was then inserted in the top of the basket and was complete.
I put the trap in the water under some tree roots without any bait. About 10 minutes later caught the first prawn which I stored in a pot of water. I caught another one and made a fire.
I humanely killed the prawn using the splitting method which destroys the central nervous system (boiling alive is more painful). Then I put them back in the pot with water. I collected some yams that I planted years ago from wild stock and put them in too.
I took 5 hot rocks from the fire and put them in the pot boiling the contents. The prawns turned red after cooking. They were peeled and eaten. The yams were also peeled and eaten.
This method of catching prawns is easy with the only skill needed being basketry. In practice, a long stretch of creek might have several traps collecting food each day without any effort on the part of the fisherman. Bait is not necessary to catch prawns as they will be naturally be drawn to the fish trap out of curiosity. But scraps from previous prawns may be used to bring in new ones (they are cannibalistic) or other fish like eels. The prawn trap is easy to build and can be reused many times.
Edit: I originally called this animal a shrimp when technically it is a freshwater prawn. A prawns segments overlap the ones after it whereas a shrimps second segment overlaps the first and third segment. Shrimp have a distinct bend in the tail. It is definitely not a crayfish however which is basically a freshwater lobster.

Movie version of the Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Haven't played MGS4 before or just want to see the epic game again? Then this video might be for you.
In 2014, the world is in chaos, the war economy plunging the world into never-ending battle. This fuels the need for private military companies, the five largest of which (together rivaling the power of the entire United States Army) are owned by a single mother company, Outer Heaven, with Liquid Ocelot at the helm. Liquid Ocelot, a fusion of the consciousness of Liquid Snake and the body of Revolver Ocelot, is once again set on world domination and Solid Snake, now suffering advanced accelerated aging and under the codename of Old Snake, is dispatched as a personal favor to Roy Campbell to assassinate him.
Tire Tanks for Watering Livestock

Kentucky’s abundant forage and ex- tensive stream system have helped the Commonwealth become the largest beef producing state east of the Missis- sippi River. While streams and ponds serve as a water source for many op- erations, livestock can quickly degrade soil and water quality by trampling streambanks and defecating and urinat- ing in and around waterbodies (Figure 1). These actions increase sediment, pathogen, and nutrient loads to streams, rivers, and lakes which in turn can causes eutrophication. Eutrophication occurs when excessive or high levels of nutrients promote algal growth that can lead to algal blooms (Figure 2). Algal blooms disrupt the aquatic ecosystem by using large amounts of the water’s oxygen.
In some cases, algal blooms can release harmful toxins.
To help protect the health of Kentucky’s soil and water, producers can implement best management practices (BMPs). These practices, as outlined in the Kentucky Agricultural Water Quality Act (KAWQA), help reduce the sources of pollutants and/or the trans- port of pollutants to waterways. One such practice or BMP is limiting cattle access to streams and ponds; another complementary practice is establishing and protecting riparian bu ers. Riparian bu ers are vegetated areas adjacent to waterbodies (Figure 3). Riparian buf- fers protect and improve water quality by filtering sediments, nutrients, and pathogens in runo ; stabilize stream- banks by holding the soil in place; help regulate water temperatures during the summer by providing shade; and provide food and cover to terrestrial and aquatic wildlife.
When producers exclude livestock access to stream and ponds and their associated riparian bu ers, an alternative source of water is required. Automatic water fountains are one commonly used means of providing cattle with water from an alternate source (Figure 4). A water tank constructed using a heavy equipment tire may serve as a viable option for supplying livestock with an alternate source of water (Figure 5). A tire-tank waterer uses a loader, grader, dump truck, or similar OTR (o -the- road) tire as the reservoir. Because these tires have a large circumference, live- stock have more access for drinking as compared to traditional automatic water fountains. A tire-tank waterer should remain operational for over 10 years, and in many cases, will cost less than other types of permanent water sources.
As with any livestock management prac- tice, tire-tank waterers offer advantages and disadvantages when compared to traditional automatic water fountains.
Advantages
-Size. A tire-tank waterer can typically hold
500-800 gallons, depending on the size of the tire. A larger diameter means more livestock can drink at one time (e.g., 10-16 head versus one to two for automatic water fountains).
-Cost. Used heavy duty tires may be free if picked-up. Expect additional costs for tires if delivery is required and if the sidewall is already removed.
-Durability. Heavy duty tires are durable and can withstand forces exerted by large live- stock.
Disadvantages
-Availability. Identifying a local source of
heavy duty tires may be challenging. A sup- plier may not be available in your county.
-Handling. Large tires can weigh over 1,000 lb. meaning a tractor with a front-end load- er along with a set of chains is required to move and place the tire.
-Sidewall removal. Cutting out the sidewall is di cult, especially if the tire is steel belted. The process requires the use of a recipro- cating saw, several saw blades, and a trac- tor and chains.
-Freezing. As with an automatic water foun- tain, the water in tire-tank waterers can freeze. While the tire itself provides insula- tion, the surface of the water is exposed to air and wind.
