John and Deirdre have lived together in Ballygally for nearly thirty years.
During that time, they raised a family while working as Art teachers.
As practising artists themselves, the couple have poured their combined passion for fine arts and crafts into the design and decoration of their home.
Deirdre and John enjoy cooking and cultivating their own produce, used extensively in their recipies. Both, too, are keen gardeners with an eye for detail, and have enjoyed curating the gardens around their home into wildlife santuaries.

Ayr-Raising Day on the Coast: Simon's Great Britain Tour Part 6 (30th April 2014)
Part 6 out of 11
This journey focus on a few things, the Ayrshire Coast Line, Two Stanier Black 5s on the Great Britain VII Railtour and a whole lot of First ScotRail Class 380 EMUs
This journeys starts at Charring Cross filming a First ScotRail Class 320, 320307 and went over to Partick but went over to Glasgow Central, the next clip is my train departing Glasgow Central, travelling on a Class 380 Desiro to Howwood to start filming the Class 380s working on services out from Glasgow Central to stations on the Ayrshire Coast, then after an hour at Howwod, moved on to Irvine to catch more Class 380 EMUs and also a West Coast Railway Company Class 47 passing through with a Edinburgh Joppa to Falklands sidings, also during filming Class 380s were terminating at Irvine but now these services are extended to Ayr, also during filming on the Ayrshire Coast are the odd Class 156 which you will see time to time.
After departing Irvine, went to Preswick International Airport to film more Class 380s but managed to get to a lineside position to film Ian Riley Black 5s, 44871 and 45407 speeding through on a Edinburgh Waverley to Stranraer working the Great Britain VII railtour, after it passed, caught a Class 380 and went to Ayr to capture the Great Britain VII leaving but the problem was, the steam locomotives overshot the platform and couldn't film them on the platform, I ended up filming them departing on a Morrison supermarket car park but after the charter left, went back to Ayr and boarded a Class 156 to Troon with Jake Neill, Ryan Jameson and Andrew Craig.
At Troon filmed some more Class 380s with first ScotRail Class 156 and also a DRS Class 66, after Troon went to Kilwinning, the plan was to change trains to Stevenson but due to the weather, stayed at Kilwinning, after Kilwinning did the four stations between Kilwinning and Paisley Gilmour Street, in order: Dalry, Glengarnock, Milliken Park and Johhnstone which were only 30 minutes stays to film everything but after Johnstone, went to Paisley Gilmour Street to change trains and headed to Paisley St. James for the last stop of the day.
At Paisley St. James, filmed some more Class 380 EMUs and saw St. Mirren Park when St. Mirren football club play their home games but also a Class 314 speed through working a service to Glasgow Central.
After Paisley St. James headed back to Glasgow Central on a Class 380 and went to get something to eat, after that walked across the streets of Glasgow to Glasgow Queen Street and boarded a Class 334 EMU to Charring Cross to end the show.
