Bleak Times For Bleak House, Ramsey, Isle of Man

The former Peveril hotel on Mooragh Promenade has been in a bad way for some years, but in July 2011 builders arrived on site and began work to make it safe.
The Public bar appears to have been open in 1995 (there are TT Supporters Club stickers in the window for 1990 through 1995), but the date of closure is not clear.
It has been a very sad tale all round. The property has been subject to extensive court cases - hence the Dickensian name board fixed above the front door. This also says A monument to Manx Government and Chanery.
Apparantly the works are likly to cost some £35,000 of Ramsey Ratepayers money. Perhaps the site will yet be sold to reimburse this sum.
