Exploring Japan: Adventures on Awaji Island.
Greetings and salutations!
My friend Roger, whom you may remember from that video that I crossed a huge bridge and nearly had a heart attack, invited me out to Awaji Island, an island with one of the largest gardens in Japan. But what really sold me was that we would be biking there and enjoying some fun in the sun at the beach. About Yukendoit.
Welcome! What you are looking at is a former Universal Studios, Halloween Horror Night, Walt Disney World actor/worker youtuber here. I really want to show the world to you! I was pretty inspired by Adamthewoo to get out and start making videos, and now I've left America to do just that. Now I'm out in Osaka, Japan. Living daily life in Japan. But I make adventure videos of exploring strange Japanese locations, theme parks like Universal Studios Japan, and generally showing off life as an American Abroad Jvlogging in Japan. As well I like to make Jvlogs about life in Japan. As I am a former scareactor at Halloween Horror Nights in Florida, I am very interested in the strange side of Japanese culture. Ghosts, Yokai, the Japanese equivlent of Oujia boards, abandoned Japanese buildings, and Japanese haunted houses like the one at Fuji Q Highland it's the longest one in the world!
Why the name Yukendoit? Well I think that you can do it! I'm currently teaching English in Japan and I love it. Patreon patreon.com/yukendoit

Two-Minute Lecture on the World of Dams + Fukushima Dams [Part 1]
What makes dams so interesting? Fukushima Dam Presenter, Mamoru Dosekiryu will get into the details. Click here for other articles explaining dams --
[Overview]
There are around 3,000 dams in Japan. They are used for a variety of purposes, from irrigation to flood control, but many of them are used daily to ensure safety and support people's lives.
The purpose of this movie is to propose a new use for them as tourist attractions.
{About Dams in Fukushima]
There are around 60 dams in Fukushima.
Some are unusual, such as the Okutadami Dam, the second biggest dam in Japan, or the unique Shitoki Dam offering views of the ocean, but this movie will focus on two particular dams.
Part 1 will take a look at Takashiba Dam, one of Fukushima's oldest dams, and Part 2 will focus on Surikamigawa Dam, one of Tohoku's biggest rock-fill dams. They are both interesting dams with many unique features.
Valuable images have been filmed thanks to the supervision and cooperation of people working for the control centers of both dams.

France Ships MOX Nuclear Fuel To Japan
SHIP CARRYING NUCLEAR FUEL LEAVES FRANCE FOR JAPAN
A ship loaded with nuclear fuel has left a French port for Japan, carrying the first delivery since the March 2011 accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
The cargo ship left the port of Cherbourg in northwestern France on Wednesday, after the fuel was loaded onto the ship under tight security.
Japan's Kansai Electric Power Company had ordered the MOX fuel from the French energy firm Areva. MOX fuel is a mixture of plutonium extracted from spent nuclear fuel and uranium.
The utility firm plans to use the fuel at its Takahama plant in Fukui Prefecture on the Sea of Japan coast. The plant is currently offline.
Dozens of French activists staged a protest at the port ahead of the ship's departure. They criticized the shipment at a time when most Japanese nuclear plants remain offline.
It is not clear whether the nuclear recycling power generation project which uses the MOX fuel will be able to resume.
Areva officials say the ship will arrive in Japan in about 2 months.

FRENCH ACTIVISTS PROTEST ON NUCLEAR FUEL TO JAPAN
Dozens of French activists have staged a protest ahead of a nuclear fuel shipment to Japan.
The shipping was halted after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident forced most of Japan's nuclear plants to shutdown.
About 50 activists gathered at the northwestern port of Cherbourg on Monday.
A French energy firm has been producing the MOX fuel, a mixture of plutonium and uranium. The Kansai Electric Power Company ordered it for use at its Takahama nuclear plant in Fukui Prefecture, Central Japan, which is currently off-line.
A cargo ship loaded with the fuel is scheduled to leave the port as early as Wednesday.
The activists wore headbands with the Japanese slogan saying Stop MOX and called for a halt to the delivery.
A spokesperson for the activists said France is pressuring Japan by sending the fuel over when the country is trying to decide on new energy policies.
The activists say the fuel would be brought from a facility about 20 kilometers away from the port and loaded onto 2 vessels.

2,000 HOUSES IN WESTERN JAPAN DAMAGED BY QUAKE
Officials of the 3 cities on Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture, have confirmed that nearly 2,000 houses and buildings were damaged by a strong earthquake on Saturday.
Sumoto, Awaji and Minami-awaji conducted the survey on Sunday.
In Sumoto, about 300 city officials visited houses and stores to check for cracks and other effects of the quake.
Overall, 1,966 structures in the 3 cities were found to have damage.
People in hard-hit areas are covering roofs that have missing or broken tiles with plastic sheets provided by the city.
A man in his 60s said that as the quake tilted his house and broke water pipes, he wants the city to subsidize its repair.
Two people in Sumoto were added to the list of injured by the quake, raising the total to 25 in Hyogo and surrounding prefectures.

Awaji Island (淡路島? Awaji-shima) is an island in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan, in the eastern part of the Seto Inland Sea between the islands of Honshū and Shikoku. The island has an area of 592.17 square kilometres (228.64 square miles),[1] and is the largest of the Inland Sea's islands.
As a transit between those two islands, Awaji originally means the road to Awa,[2] the historic province bordering the Shikoku side of the Naruto Strait, now part of Tokushima Prefecture The island is separated from Honshū by the Akashi Strait and from Shikoku by the Naruto Strait. Since April 5, 1998, it has been connected to Kobe on Honshū by the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in the world.[3] Since its completion the Kobe Awaji Naruto Expressway across the island has been the main eastern land link between Honshū and Shikoku. The Naruto whirlpools form in the strait between Naruto, Tokushima and Awaji.[4]
The Nojima Fault, responsible for the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake, cuts across the island. A section of the fault was protected and turned into the Nojima Fault Preservation Museum in the Hokudancho Earthquake Memorial Park (北淡町震災記念公園?) to show how the movement in the ground cut across roads, hedges and other installations. Outside of this protected area, the fault zone is less visible.[5] The Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum (大鳴門橋記念館? Ōnarutokyō Kinenkan) and the Uzushio Science Museum (うずしお科学館? Uzushio Kagakukan) are located near Fukura.[6]
History
According to the creation myth in Shinto, Awaji was the first of the ōyashima islands born from the kami Izanagi and Izanami.[7] Awaji constituted a province between the 7th and the 19th century, Awaji Province, and was a part of Nankaidō. Today the island consists of three municipalities: Awaji, Sumoto and Minamiawaji.
The Awaji Ningyō-Jōruri, a more-than-500-year-old form of traditional puppet theater, or ningyō-jōruri, daily performs several shows in the Awaji Ningyō-Jōruri Hall (人形浄瑠璃館?) in Minamiawaji, Hyōgo in the southern part of the island and is designated an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Japan. The Awaji puppets perform popular traditional dramas but have their origins in religious rituals.[8]
Starting in the 1830s, the local potter Minpei started producing what would be then known as Awaji ware, also known as Minpei ware.
Tadao Ando designed several structures on the island, amidst them the Hompuku-ji water temple (本福寺?)[9][10] and the Awaji Yumebutai,[11][12] both located in Awaji, Hyōgo.
In 1995, this island was the epicenter of the Kobe earthquake, which killed over 5,502 peopl
