Undergraound kayaking @ Podzemlje Pece sLOVEnia UNESCO Geopark Karavanke

This underground adventure starts in front of the mining museum in Glančnik in Mežica. Visitors board a genuine mining train which takes from the museum through the 3.5 km long Glančnik tunnel and up to Unionski vpadnik slope mine. From here you descend for 95 m and go down the stairs that lead to water. At this point, all visitors receive the necessary protective equipment (neoprene boots, life jackets and mining helmets with a flashlight). Then you enter a flooded shaft where special kayaks for three persons are already waiting for you. Your guide leads you along a small underground river until you reach the magical underground lakes almost 700 m below the surface. Visitors can now enjoy the peaceful and pristine water and explore the underground labyrinth, submerged tunnels and excavation sites. To end your journey, you will follow a narrow passage, paddle through some minor rapids and arrive back at the starting point.

Koroška is the cradle of Slovenian. Following a plebiscite in 1920 the greater part of Carinthia belonged to Austria, so now Slovenian Carinthia region comprises an area of three valleys - Mežiška, Drava and Mislinjska and three mountain ranges - Pohorje, the Karavanke and Savinian Alps.

In previous centuries, there developed mining, but now the former mine in Mežica arranged in a tourist mine and museum with a unique range of cycling through the abandoned mysterious tunnels in the Underworld Mt.
Even in the Drava valley today to recapture power once the most important economic activity, they are transported timber rafters on the river in faraway places. Cave Kayaking for your Stag party

You will be padling through a flooded underground mine while admiring incredible underground lakes. First you will board a genuine mining train which will take you deeper into the mine. Then you will receive all the necessary protective equipment such as: neoprene boots, a life jacket and a mining helmet. You will enter a flooded underground shaft and board your special kayak that can hold up to three people. With the help of a professional guide you will explore the underground labyrinth, submerged tunnels and excavation sites. At the end you will take a walk past the abandoned underground working sites to the mining train station. The mine has a constant temperature of 10 °C. Visitors are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and walking or hiking shoes. After a real miner’s lunch, the train will take you to the mining museum

Zaščitene s čelado in površnikom vas vodnik vodi skozi Antonijev rov, do edinstvene podzemne kapele svete Trojice in znamenitega Attemsovega vpadnika.
