For most visitors the Minnewater and its lovely park are the entrance to the beautiful city of Bruges. The Minnewater is a canalized lake. From the bridge (1740) one can already enjoy a nice panoramic view over the town. Because of the idyllic surroundings it is mostly referred to as 'the lake of Love', the Dutch word 'Minne' meaning 'love'.
Actually, the origins of the lake are less romantic. It was here that the coastal river 'Reie' entered the city. The river was later canalized and made to continue until the center of town. It is not sure where the name 'Minnewater' comes from. An explanation could be 'water van het gemeen', which could be translated as the 'common water'. The lake was used as a water reservoir, to keep the water of the canals at a constant level. Next to the lake is the Minnewater park, where sometimes in the summertime (rock) concerts are organized.

One of the symbols of Bruges is the swan. There are always plenty of them on the 'Minnewater'. There exists a nice legend about the swans of Bruges. In 1488 the people of Bruges had executed one of the town administrators belonging to the court of Maximilian of Austria, husband and successor of duchess Mary of Burgundy. The town administrator was called 'Pieter Lanchals', a name which means ' long neck'. The Lanchals family coat of arms featured a white swan. Legend has it that Maximilian punished Bruges by obliging the population to keep swans on their lakes and canals till eternity. Most of these legends and romantic interpretations come from the 19th century. Believe them or not : the beautiful 'Minnewater' deserves them.

เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ความรักอันยิ่งใหญ่ของเธอสาวสวยที่ชื่อ Minna ซึ่งพบรักกับนักรบหมู่บ้านใกล้เคียงชื่อ Stromberg แต่พ่อของเธอไม่เห็นด้วยกับความรักในครั้งนี้ จึงจัดให้แต่งงานกับชายที่เลือกไว้ให้ ทำให้ Minna เลือกที่จะหนีงานแต่งในครั้งนี้ เธอได้วิ่งหายเข้าไปในป่าลึก ชายหนุ่ม Stromberg ได้ออกตามหาหญิงสาว แต่ก็สายไปเสียแล้ว ภาพที่ชายหนุ่มเห็น คือ คนรักของเขานอนหมดแรงอยู่กลางป่า และเสียชีวิตในเวลาถัดไปในอ้อมแขนของเขาเอง ต่อมาชื่อของเธอถูกตั้งเป็นชื่อทะเลสาบและสะพานเพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ความรักอันยิ่งใหญ่เธอ

Namun apa daya Ayahnya tidak setuju dengan cintanya dan bermaksud untuk menikahkannya dengan pria pilihannya sendiri. Minna sangat sedih dan melarikan diri. Ia berlari dan berlari terus ke dalam hutan hingga kehabisan tenaga. Ketika sang pemuda tercinta, Stromberg, akhirnya menemukannya, ia menghebuskan nafas terakhir dalam pelukannya karena kelelahan.
Danau ini kemudian diberi namai Minna atau Minnewater, dan jembatan di tepi danau dianggap jembatan cinta atau Lovers Bridge, untuk mengenangnya. Menurut mitos yang berkembang di masyarakat bahwa ketika Anda berjalan di atas jembatan dengan orang yang Anda cintai, itu akan menjadi cinta abadi.

By the charming squares, typical narrow streets and medieval houses, Bruges is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. A beautiful narrow canal winding as a labyrinth across the old city center, giving the impression of Brugue as a romantic and classic city.
There are lots of things to see and do in Brugge, from enjoying culinary delights such as chocolate and waffles, shopping for souvenirs at the Tin Tin shop, and the most exciting ones are boating on the canals and visiting the Lake of Love (Minnewater) that looks like a fairyland. This is the most beautiful way to enjoy the medieval streets that are the center of world history (UNESCO).
Behind of that The beautiful brugge have a heartwarming love story legend. Ones upon the times, there lived a young and beautiful girl named Minna. Minna fell in love with a young man named Stromberg, a warrior from a different tribe. But what power did his father disagree with his love and intend to marry her to a man of his own choice. Minna was very sad and ran away. She ran and ran all the way into the forest until she can not anymore. When the beloved young man, Stromberg, finally found her, she breathed her last in his arms from exhaustion.The lake was then named Minna or Minnewater, and the bridge on the lake was considered a bridge of love or Lovers Bridge, to remind them. According to the myth, if you walk on the bridge with your loved ones, it will become eternally love.

벨기에 수도 브뤼셀과 함께 플랜더스 최고의 관광 도시 브뤼헤로 간다. 브뤼헤 중심에는 마르크트 광장이 있다. 광장의 노천카페는 사람들로 가득하다. 브뤼헤는 북유럽 최고의 운하도시로 이탈리아 베네치아와 쌍벽을 이룬다. 브뤼헤란 이름도 다리라는 뜻으로 수많은 다리가 운하를 연결하고 있다. 한해 100만 명 이상이 찾는 브뤼헤는 어딜 가나 관광객들로 넘쳐난다. 브뤼헤 마르크트 광장에 있는 종탑은 높이가 88미터로 브뤼헤 시내 전경을 볼 수가 있다. 입장료는 우리 돈으로 만오천 원 정도이고 오후 6시까지 문을 연다. 종탑 꼭대기에 오르기 위해 366개의 좁고 긴 나선형. 계단을 올라가야 하는데 보통 20분 정도 걸린다. 좁다 보니 서로 교행하기가 쉽지 않고 일정한 인원만 올려 보낸다. 기다리지 않고 종탑에 오르고 싶으면 개장시간인 9시 반에 맞춰 가는 것이 좋다. 종탑을 오르면 유네스코 세계문화유산인 브뤼헤 시내의 그림 같은 전경을 볼 수 있다. 아름다운 브뤼헤의 전경을 넋을 잃고 한참을 보는 사람, 까치발까지 하며 기억에 담아두려는 사람, 저 마다의 방식으로 브뤼헤를 담고 있다. “도시와 해안가를 관광하려고 브뤼헤에 왔어요. 조금 전에 (종탑의) 366개 계단을 올라왔는데 굉장히 가파르고 갈수록 폭이 좁아지고 힘들게 올라왔어요. 지금은 브뤼헤의 아름다운 경치를 구경하고 있습니다.” 13세기에서 15세기에 지어진 종탑은 시간당 네 번의 종을 울린다. 15분마다 카릴론 악기로 연주되는 브뤼헤 종탑 종소리의 장엄함은 그 소리만으로도 도시를 지켜주고 있다. 브뤼헤 시내를 촬영하다 보니 교회로 보이는 건물이 오후 두시가 다 되어가는데도 아직 문을 열지 않았다. 사람들의 줄은 시간이 갈수록 늘어나고 있었다. 드디어 두시가 되자 문이 열리고 사람들이 교회 안으로 쏟아져 들어간다. 나도 사람들을 따라 2층으로 올라갔다. 플랜더스를 다스리던 백작이 십자군 원정 때 예루살렘에서 가져온 예수님의 성혈을 모신 예배당이다. 두시부터 2시간만 성혈을 볼 수 있고 개인기도 시간도 갖는다. 많은 사람들이 길게 줄을 서서 차례를 기다리고 있다. 그 간절함만큼 바라는 소원이 다 이뤄지길 빌어본다. “저희는 방금 예배당에서 나왔는데요. 저희는 가톨릭 신자로 예배당에서 약 5분간 (예수 성혈을 직접 보는) 식에 참석했는데 매우 좋았습니다.” 브뤼헤에는 시티투어 버스와 마차 투어가 있다. 시티투어 버스는 한 명당 이만오천 원 정도이고 마차는 한 대당 6만원 정도다. 마차가 조금 비쌌지만 뒷골목까지 볼 수 있다기에 난 마차를 타기로 했다. 마차 관광은 30분 정도 걸린다. 중요한 건물이나 유적을 지날 때면 마부가 설명을 해준다. 말발굽 소리가 박자에 맞춘 것처럼 크게 울린다. 이 사람들은 그 소리가 재밌는 모양이다. 브뤼헤 곳곳을 돌던 마차가 다시 마르크트 광장으로 돌아오면 마차 여행은 끝 난다. “이것으로 (브뤼헤 마차) 관광은 끝났습니다. 브뤼헤에서 부디 즐거운 휴가 보내셨길 바랍니다.” “(벨기에에) 와보니까 (생각했던 것보다) 기대 이상입니다. 세 번째 유럽여행인데 이탈리아, 프랑스 못지않습니다. 너무 좋습니다.” “(브뤼헤에) 관광객들이 상당히 많은 것 같은데, 관광객들의 모습이 기대감으로 활기차 보이는 것이 감동적이었습니다.” 벨기에 사람들의 맥주 사랑을 현지에서 제대로 느낄 수 있었다. 와인 하면 프랑스, 맥주 하면 독일 정도 만 알고 있던 나는 벨기에 사람들의 맥주 사랑이 어마어마하다는 것에 깜짝 놀랐다. 전 세계에서 제일 큰 맥주 회사도 플랜더스에 있다고 한다. 벨기에 맥주는 종류가 많고 맛있다고 유럽에서는 이미 정평이 나 있었다. 시내 맥줏집 일일 투어와 양조장 투어도 관광객들 사이에 인기가 높다고 한다. “저는 벨기에 맥주를 너무 좋아합니다. 이 지역 맥주를 제가 제일 좋아하는데요. 맛이 좋고 향이 오래 남아서 맛있습니다. 영국에도 벨기에 맥주가 많은데 맛은 별로예요. 그런데 여기 와서 마시니 너무 맛있어요.” 벨기에 맥주의 특징 중 하나는 맥주마다 개성 있는 고유의 잔이 있다는 것이다. 어떻게 그 많은 맥주마다 잔을 따로 만드는지 참 대단하다는 생각이 들었다. 맥주 고유의 잔은 맥주 맛을 오래 유지하기 위해서란다. 브뤼헤에 있는 맥줏집 입구에 맥주 벽이라고 해석되는 간판이 붙어있다. 여러 종류의 맥주를 파는 곳으로도 유명하지만 이 집에서 가장 유명한 것은 바로 수많은 맥주와 잔을 보관해놓은 진열장이다. 진짜 맥주로 만든 벽이었다. 맥주와 고유의 잔을 진열한 모습에 관광객들은 신기해한다. 과연 그 종류가 얼마나 될까? 무려 1915가지나 된다니 할 말을 잃게 된다. 가게 주인은 2008년부터 맥주와 잔을 모으기 시작해 1915개를 모았다는데 지금도 계속 수집 중이란다. “벨기에에는 2천여 곳의 맥주 양조장들이 있는데 그들은 각자 굉장한 특색을 지니고 있습니다. 이것은 1900년대에 들어와서 수많은 사람들이 직접 양조를 제조했기 때문이죠. 그래서 벨기에 맥주가 다양한 맛과 향을 가지고 있는 것입니다. 또 흑맥주부터 자두 맥주까지 보유하고 있고 이들 맥주에는 각각의 놀라운 특색을 지니고 있습니다.” 벨기에에서 가장 오래된 맥주 양조장이다. 6대째 가업으로 이어지고 있는 이 맥주 양조장은 수도원에서 처음 시작되었다. (메헬렌의) 수도원에서 (맥주 제조는) 1471년부터 시작되었으며 수도원 병원 안에 양조장이 있었습니다. 양조장이 있었던 까닭은 당시 수질이 나쁘다 보니 물에 병균이 많았는데요. 그래서 수도원에서 양조를 시작해 물보다 건강한 맥주를 만들기 시작했습니다.‘ 스페인의 국왕이 이 양조장 맥주 맛을 잊지 못해 스페인으로 가져갔을 정도다. 이 양조장은 과일 맥주나 성탄절 맥주도 만든다. “이건 흑맥주인데, 여기에는 캐러멜을 첨가한 맥아를 씁니다. 그러면 약간의 자두 향과 캐러멜 맛이 나죠. 그게 이 흑맥주의 맛입니다. 알코올 함유량이 11%예요. 도수가 높은 맥주입니다.” “주목! 주목! 주목!! 맥주축제에 오신 것을 진심으로 환영합니다. 맥주를 마음껏 드시고 최대한 즐거운 시간을 가지시길 바랍니다.”...

Vimos os lindos canais, paramos na Grote Markt para tirar fotos, comemos chocolates Leonidas, tentamos ir na Basílica do sangue sagrado mas chegamos tarde,. No outro dia fomos ver de perto os moinhos, fomos até o minnewater, fizemos o passeio de barco pelas canais e almoçamos batatas fritas e de sobremesa waffles (o de Bruxelas é muito melhor).

Самое первое упоминание о церемониальном шествии с реликвией в Брюгге относится к 1297 году и находится в документе Филиппа Красивого, где записывались все люди, которые приезжали увидеть процессию.
Процессия становится более сложной из года в год, начиная с XIII века. Практические указания по проведению шествия оглашались в рамках городского устава на публичном собрании перед дозорной башней, а специальные послы отправлялись к епископам, аббатам, прелатам и к высокопоставленным персонам, чтобы пригласить их на шествие. Практически каждый житель города участвовал в этом празднике. Поскольку эта процессия была очень важна для горожан, готовится начинали заранее. В 1396 году к шествию добавили мистерии (один из жанров европейского средневекового театра, связанный с религией), которые имели успех. Уже в XVI веке появились записи о триумфальных выходах с представлениями лучников, гильдий риторов, принцев и королей. Во время восстания против Испании ход шествия пришлось изменить и её масштабы уменьшились 1573 году, а между 1578 и 1584 годами шествии и вовсе не происходило в связи с кальвинистской оккупацией.
В XVII веке эту религиозную церемонию снова вернули и шествия возобновились. В результате того, что в шествии стало участвовать меньше гильдий ремесленников, под влиянием иезуитов, шествие превратилось в религиозную кавалькаду, в которой были задействованы все виды театральных представлений.
Шествие Святой крови воспроизводит исторический момент обретения Брюгге своей главной святыни. Согласно летописям, это произошло в XIII веке, когда фиал из горного хрусталя с кровью Христа был доставлен из Иерусалима участниками Второго крестового похода. Пышный праздник, отмечающий годовщину судьбоносного события, организуют официальные хранители реликвии - Благородное братство Святой Крови. Члены братства в торжественных чёрно-красных одеяниях, ведомые своим деканом, сопровождают паланкин со святыней в путешествии по городу. В её почетном эскорте также присутствуют высшие католические иерархи и почетные гости из разных стран.
Сам парад представляет собой развернутую версию традиционных библейских постановок, которые принято разыгрывать на Рождество и другие важные христианские торжества. Все паломники разбиты на группы, исполняющие сценки из Ветхого и Нового Завета по ходу движения процессии. Действо сопровождается выступлением церковных хоров и оркестровой музыкой. Помимо золотого контейнера с иисусовой кровью, в религиозном параде участвуют две почитаемые скульптуры Спасителя: статуя «Иисус на Холодном Камне» из базилики и «Христос во Гробу» из Иерусалимской церкви Брюгге.
Сегодня организация шествия находится в руках приходов города, а также школ и монастырей. Нынешний формат процессии практически не отличается от шествия XIX века, разве что претерпел некоторые изменения за последние 50 лет. Современную процессию можно разделить на 4 части:
– Ветхий Завет
– Новый Завет (Житие Христа)
