Mishima (三島市 Mishima-shi) is a city located in eastern Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The Mishima Summer Festival takes place from August 15 to 17 every year, in and around the Mishima Taisha shrine, as well as near Mishima Station. Mikoshi are carried through the streets and the taiko are played.

Japanese Summer Festival in Mishima city
I went to Summer festival in Mishima city on 16th August.
This is the Mishima shrine's festival and it says it started as harvest festival about 1300 years ago.
Over 300,000 people came here for three days.
My uncle and cousin participate in this festival and play Shagiri.

Mishima Taisha Taiko Drum Concert Summer festival 2015
Taiko is a traditional Japanese percussion instrument used in courts and shrines. They are versatile, and can be played standing or put horizontally to be played by two at the same time or even mount them on stands to play at different heights.
Best Way To See Mount Fuji: Mishima Sky Walk Japan Travel Guide | 三島スカイウォーク・日本最長の吊り橋
Mishima Sky Walk is now the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Japan. From the suspension bridge, you can see one of the best views of Mount Fuji in my opinion.
The Mishima Sky Walk Bridge is located in Mishima city, Shizuoka prefecture in Japan.
To get here it's around a 2 hour car ride from Tokyo or you can take the bus from JR Mishima Station. (around 25 mins)
Mishima Sky Walk opened on December 14, 2015 so it is still very new and still not well-known amongst foreigners! (Which is such a shame because this place offers an amazing view of Mt Fuji and Suruga Bay)
Opening hours:
Open 365 days (Admission may be restricted in bad weather ie. thunder, strong winds)
9am-5pm (Last admission is at 4:30)
Price:
1000 yen for Adults
500 yen Secondary School
200 yen Primary School

Walk on the Genpei River （Mishima city Shizuoka prefecture Japan）
Popular as a city of water, a spot that feels like Mishima.
The source water of Mt. Fuji gushes Out of the Kohama Pond in Rakujyu-en Garden The Genpei River is a beautiful flow of fireflies dancing on the early summer evening, while it is a 6-minute walk from JR Mishima Station.
In the river, stepping stones etc. are arranged, and you can enjoy 'Seseragi walk'.
