Mississinewa Lake Dam is a dam in Miami County, Indiana, just outside the town of Peru, in the central part of the state.
The earthen dam was constructed from 1962[3] to 1967 by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, with a height of 140 feet, and 8000 feet long at its crest.[4] It impounds the Mississinewa River for irrigation storage and flood control. The dam is owned and operated by the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division of the Corps of Engineers.
The reservoir it creates, Mississinewa Lake, has a normal water surface of five square miles, has a maximum capacity of 368,400 acre-feet, and a normal capacity of 75,200 acre-feet.[5] Recreation includes fishing, boating, and swimming. Nearby recreation areas include the Miami State Recreation Area, the Red Bridge State Recreation Area, the Pearson Mill State Recreation Area, and the Frances Slocum State Recreation Area.

Summer of Rain

Halloween Camping with Creepy Cauldron 2014
This is our first camping trip for a Halloween festival at Mohican Wilderness. We went last year and I only had the guy in the rocking chair plus a graveyard scene along with a bride and groom at dinner. Stepped up the fun a little bit with the Cauldron Creep (thank you to Devil's Chariot and everyone else!!) and a monster in the box.

I am so happy that I got to go camping at Mississinewa in Indiana with Gradon’s family! We had such a good time and I am super thankful for the opportunity to go.
Things are getting a lot better with me and my well-being and I am just so thankful for the weather to be getting better and being motivated to take care of myself. Also, I apologize for all the wind and low quality sound in the videos lol. I don’t know why it is like that! Ugh.
My friends and family and God have been a huge blessing to me.

Seven Pillars / Hathaway Preserve @ Ross Run 2018
I visit the historic Seven Pillars of the Mississinewa River near Peru, Indiana. This was a well known meeting spot just upstream from the Wabash which made it accessible to many people, including the Miami. Then it’s on to Hathaway preserve at Ross Run (an ACRES property).
Mississinewa Reservoir Spillway Releasing Flood Waters
The Mississinewa Reservoir finally is able to release flood waters after being forced to hold back the water to avoid flooding downstream. The Reservoir reached a record level of 777 feet on July 16th 2015. This video was shot on July 18th when the spillway is again open allowing flood waters to escape. It was only 2 feet from being forced to overflow in emergency flooding areas. The Dam holds water back flowing from the Mississinewa River which empties into the Wabash River Just East of Peru Indiana. Without this protection no doubt some degree of flooding would have occurred in the city of Peru.
