Exploring Some Traditional Streets in Hiroshima, Japan
This is Day 2 of the tour where we explore the traditional and older part of Hiroshima. If you are searching for a more off the beaten path take to this prefecture, Onomichi highly recommended.
I was invited by JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization) and JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) to go on an epic 5 day tour around Hiroshima, Okayama, Kagawa and Tokushima Prefecture.
Check out more about the Hiroshima area:

Miyazaki Takachiho Yokagura - Shinto priest
This is about Japanese mythology.
Yokagura is said to have originated from the time when the goddess Amanouzume performed an interesting dance as a part to lure the sun goddess Amaterasu from the cave in which she enclosed herself offended by the misdeeds of Susanoo, her younger brother.
Japanese shrine part1 gokoku shrine Purification by A shinto priest.

Takachiho Kagura: Dance of Tajikarao
Visit my blog for more information:
I went to Takachiho in Miyazaki Prefecture in December 2011.
Takachiho is awesome, definitely visit it if you're in Kyushu!
Takachiho is also known for its Kagura Dance that is held EVERY night from 8-9pm at Takachiho Shrine.
The night I went, they performed 4 different traditional Japanese dances.
Dance of Tajikarao - Dance #1:
Tajikarao was a god known for his great strength. When the sun goddess Amaterasu hid herself in a cave, Tajikarao went searching for her. Tajikarao suspected that Amaterasu hid in Amano-Iwato cave. This dance depicts Tajikarao listening for any sound that would prove that Amaterasu was actually in the cave.
P.S.: I'm sorry for the bad camera handling. It was so crowded and I had to sit in seiza posture for a long time.

KAGURA performed between tradition and innovation: Ikuta Shrine at TEDxSannomiya
Ikuta Shrine - Kagura Ikuamai
(Speaker:Yasuhiro Sakai, Dancer: Sakura Miyazaki / Yuki Nakata / Kurumi Iwasaki / Rieko Sawada )
Ikuta Shrine is the most famous Shinto shrine in Kobe.
Ikutamai is kagura ( ' kagura ' is sacred music and dancing performed at a shrine).
Two men of the Takarazuka Music School created music and dance moves to Japanese poems made by Gotoba-in and Juntoku-in.
The dancers are women, but they dance in men's clothes such as long black lacquered hats (= ' Eboshi ' ) and green noshi ( 'noshi' is everyday clothes for nobles).
[FYI]
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Running on Fire ritual at a shrine in Japan
Many visitors to Japan know ”Fire-Walking” at the foot of Mt.Takao.
This fire ritual is a scene of Spring Festival at a shrine in Saitama prefecture.
In 2017, it marked the 80th anniversary.
Regrettably, however, it ended because of aging of participants.
