Hang Gliding, Spion, 12 Jan 2019
It turned out to be a few knots stronger than forecast. Especially on and around launch which was also gusty. I watched a couple of guys launch before deciding to set up. When I went to launch everyone had shot through. So I got a beardy guy's to help get me out to launch. I then spent 10 mins waiting for the wind to calm down so I could launch without being thrown left or right.
I settled down after launching and found it was nice and relaxing around Eastern View. I then set out to land at the chute (creek mouth) at the Aireys Inlet lighthouse. But I saw it was half full of water and so turned back and had a nice tippy toe landing in the strong wind at Moggs Creek.

My first flight at Spion in Victoria.
An amazing site with great views, but a bit of a tricky launch being surrounded by power lines.
And yes another awful landing

The model flyers watching hart in mouth as it happend thought I was going down,, Where you flying a sale plane at Westbury today. I was the only Hang glider there...

Hang Gliding, Spion, 26 Oct 2018
The Marine forecast called for less than 15 knots from the SouthWest. Meteye called it 17 S at 2pm and 17SSW at 5pm.
It was about 15kn on the beach but it was over 20kn on launch and getting near 30kn in the air. Also it was rough. Boy was it rough. The clouds seemed to be crossing from the West. We gathered the turbulence was due to shear as the west air was mixing with the south layer of air.
Up and down the coast I couldn't find air that I was happy to fly in. So I landed.
