Know Before You Go To Belize
Planning a trip to Belize? Don't miss these important travel tips before you go. My fiancé and I spent 12 days in Belize at the end of 2018. We visited San Ignacio, Placencia, and Caye Caulker. We also crossed the border to Guatemala for a quick visit to Tikal National Park. If it's your first time heading to Belize, these 23 travel tips cover some of the top things I wish I knew before we went. Already familiar with Belize? Add your own tips in the comments below.
UPDATE: I have addressed any comments relating to drones in Belize, pronouncing things wrong, and calling Belize third-world instead of a developing country, so if I don't respond to your comment about any of those things, that's why. I will continue to grow and learn from my mistakes. This is my first travel tips video, and travel film ( I look forward to making more. Thanks for your support!

Kolbe Foundation, Prison Update
For the latest news across Belize, visit:
The opportunity cost of an individual incarcerated is that he or she represents a loss of productivity elsewhere. As the national celebration month winds down we had a conversation about how society can support their rehabilitation upon release. Virgilio Murillo, CEO of Kolbe Foundation, was our guest to discuss latest developments at the institution and to share his perspective on how society can help prisoners reintegrate into society.
[Wikipedia] San Antonio, Toledo
San Antonio is a village in the Toledo District of Belize. It is the largest Maya settlement in Belize, with a population of approximately 1,000 people, predominantly Mopan Maya. About 88% of the inhabitants are Catholic, with 8% belonging to other Christian denominations, and 4% being non-denominational. Along with 29 other mission parishes in the Toledo District, it is pastored by Jesuits from St. Peter Claver church in Punta Gorda.
The village was founded in 1883 by Maya fleeing persecution in Guatemala. This was a part of a larger migration which also included Q’eqchi’ from Alta Verpaz who settled further south in the Crique Sarco, Dolores, and later Sarstoon, Temash, and Moho River areas.
Economic development came to San Antonio in the early 1950s with the founding of a credit union and cooperative that enabled villagers to market their own produce. Fr. William Ulrich, S.J., spearheaded this movement.
San Antonio features several attractions, including San Antonio Falls, a stone church built in 1950, and ecotourism guest houses.
