Yudalsan Mountain 유달산 [Korea Travel Guide in Mokpo]
Yudalsan in Mokpo city is a not very tall mountain, actually a bit above 200m from sea level, easy to reach to the peak and nice view of the city and the sea side.
Mokpo, The Port City
Mokpo is a port city located in southwest in South Korea. It is a small city but it has a lot of fun attractions that everyone should visit!
In the video, the place that I went to was:
- Sulbing in the downtown area to get those Korean deserts
- Colombang bakery in the downtown area to get the cream cheese bread
- Arcade near to Mokpo Station and play the games and have fun in the karaoke
- Candy store in Bukhang-ro and enjoys various type of candies and ice creams
- Yudal Mountain and see the whole downtown of Mokpo from the peak of the mountain
- Walk along Haeyangdaehak-ro at night time to see the Mokpo Bridge and plays with the fireworks
- Gatbawi Rocks
- Walk along Peace Park as they have various activities and street food
- Enjoying the Mokpo Water Fountain which is in Peace Park

This Movie is about our trip to Korea's south west city called 'Mokpo.'
There is this really nice traditional Korean palace style hotel called 'Yeong San Jae.'(hotelysj.com/) The place it very beautiful although it's a bit pricy and you need to take a cap to get to anywhere due to it's rather remote location.
The second place we stayed was also traditional Korean style guest house but this one's more like regular house style.
Mokpo is very famous for it's delicious food especially seafood.

Mokpo Gatbawi
Gatbawi, meaning a rock shape resembling a Satgat, or a traditional Korean conical bambo rain hat. Gatbawi is natural tafoni (small cave-live features found in granular rock such as sandstone, with rounded entrances and smooth concave walls) and is between 6-8 meters/20-26 feet in size named Jeongbawi and Satgatbawi. The larger rock is called the father and the smaller one is called the son.
Gatbawi designated Natural Monument Number 500.
Gatbawi is found on the shore of Mokpo's east harbor, near the mouth of the Yeongsan River, South Jeolla Province, South Korea.
The following is the legend behind the rock figures of Mokpo Gatbawi:
A long time ago, a young man lived with his sick father and sold salt. Though he was poor, he was a kind man who would do anything to help his sick father.
He worked as a farm hand for a rich house to save money to cure his father's illness. He did his job well but, in the end, his master didn't pay him. When he retumed home after one month, he found his father's body was already cold.
He regreted that he had been foolish in not caring for his father for a month. The least he could do was to try to make him comfortable in the afterlife. Unfortunately, as he was moving his father's body, he slipped and dropped the coffin into the sea.
He felt awful about his father's underwater burial. To make amends, he remained in that spot, wearing a bamboo hat until his death so that he too could not see the sky. Some time after his death, two rocks rose up at Gatbawi.
A walk around Mokpo, South Korea
My friend and I were walking out in the snow in Mokpo, South Korea. When I said that you can barely tell it's snowing, I meant on the video camera. My friend said something to the effect of, Yes you can. A snowflake hit me in my mouth. To which I laughed.
This video is just showing around my town. Sorry for it being so bumpy. I turned off the camera because my hands were freezing and so cold.

목포 고하도 - Walking in Gohado Island, Mokpo, Jeollanam-do, Korea
It is in a place about 2km apart from Mokpo. Gohado Island, with the inspirational sight of standing while appearing as if embracing Mokpo city's southern coasts, was named so because it is an island below a high mountain (Yudalsan Mountain). It was also called Bohwado Island or Kalseom Island in the past.
It is said that people started living since the age of the Three States, and it was a place used as a strategic location by Admiral Yi Sun-sin during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592, and successfully defended against the Japanese invasion. To commemorate this, there is a monument for Admiral Yi Sun-sin (local cultural assets number 39). Also, this area is designated as a historic site for Admiral Yi Sun-sin (local memorial number 10) to honor Admiral Yi Sun-sin's will. Gohado Yongmeori, a gateway to Mokpo harbor, has a beautiful view of Yudalsan Nakjodae terrace and Ildeungbong peak, and at night you can see a beautiful night view of colored lamps harmonized with the ocean view.Gohado is a dragon of the Mokpo coastal waters.
Gohado is seen in its most beautiful shape from Yudalsan Gwanungak Pavillion. Gwanungak Pavilion, although there aren't accurate recorded documents, seems like it was named that was because when it fogs after rain it seems as if clouds stop at the waist of the mountain.This is a place where Admiral Yi Sun-sin was stationed from October 29th, 1597 to February 17th, 1598, for a total of 107 days and reorganized his troops. This island was used as a strategic point by Admiral Yi Sun-sin and has prevented the invasion of Japanese army to the mainland during the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592. There are traces of the camping by the Admiral and Mochunggak Pavilion, made to honor his services.
고하도(高下島)는 전라남도 목포시 관할 섬으로, 목포 앞바다에서 약 2km 떨어져 있다. 고하도와 북항을 잇는 목포대교가 2012년 6월에 개통되어서 육지와 이어지게 되었다.
