For thousands of years, cultures throughout the world have enjoyed the many therapeutic benefits of sweating, from the elaborate bath/sauna/exercise complexes of the Romans, to the simple but effective sweat lodge structures of the Scandinavians and the Onsens/hot spring baths of the Japanese. Sweating has proved to be tremendously beneficial to the health of the human body. This video details why some regular Bikram yogis and staff love the practice!

Yoga Meltdown - Festival of India 2016 | Toronto Island
Yoga Meltdown is part of the annual Festival of India that is held at Centre Island, Toronto. Yogis can practice yoga, learn about Mantra Meditation and attend vegan cooking demonstrations.
Yoga meltdown is a wonderful opportunity for Torontonians to get out of the city and experience bhakti-yoga in a physical and spiritual way. At the 17th of July 2016, the free Yoga Festival took part this year and many Yoga lovers and Families came to attend.
Yoga Meltdown offered several free Yoga classes in the afternoon. It was just perfect, in the middle of the Indian festival it seemed like being in the middle of pure nature with the water of lake Ontario next to it. The partner Yoga Centers that held the classes were
Beach Yoga Centre, Lotus Yoga Centre, Moksha Yoga Bloor West, Jaya Yoga Centre and The Yoga Sanctuary.
There was also a tent for yogis who are interested in Mantra Meditation. The guests were Ekalavya Dasa, David Dasa, Malati Devi Dasi and Candramauli Swami.
One of my favorite things that day was the Vegan Cooking Demonstration. Chef Shashank made some very delicious Indian food and taught all of us in how to use ingredients and spices in the kitchen. The kids were as excited as the housewives and highlight was the tasting at the end.
Sounds good to you? Don't miss this festival next year or visit one of the yoga studios in the meantime.
We talked to Anvi Raval, Festival Co-Organizer and Kevala-Bhakti Dasa, Chairperson of the Festival of India. Thank you guys, it was very nice to meet you!

Break The Silence Photo Shoot
The Break the Silence Campaign, founded by Jaclyn Miles, Miss Canada 2012, has been organizing a photo shoot here in London, Ontario to raise awareness about domestic violence. The shoot is aimed at being very artistic and symbolic of the shame, fear and pain that victims feel. This photo shoot is geared around the messages of the London Abused Women's Centre's Shine the Light on Woman Abuse Campaign, which is to take the shame and blame that abused women feel and put it where it belongs, on the abuser. These photographs will be used in the national ad campaign for Break the Silence, as well as many other potential local agencies.
This shoot has been supported by many local businesses. Leading the creative design as well as beautifully capturing the images will be award winning local photographer, Jay Terry, of Jay Terry Photography. Creative makeup artists will include Kamilia Habib, of Kamila London Beauty, Amanda Terry, of PrettyGirl Esthetics, and hair by Kendal Smale, of Vanity House. Everything down to the studio space is being sponsored. The studio being used is a new venue on Dundas and Ontario Streets called Medium, owned and operated by John Densky.
