THE HISTORIC MONA VALE HOMESTEAD WITHIN THESE GARDENS IS CLOSED BECAUSE OF SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE SUSTAINED, DUE TO THIS EARTHQUAKE. THE GARDENS REMAIN RELATIVELY INTACT, AND HAS BECOME A SANCTUARY TO VISITORS AND LOCALS IN THIS EARTHQUAKE HIT REGION. CHRISTCHURCH CONTINUES TO EXPERIENCE AFTERSHOCKS.

基督城前，沿著雅芳河畔興建的高級住宅區，夢娜維爾花園對外開放，在這裏可以欣賞小橋流水、綠草如茵的花園優美景緻，小河裡鴛鴦、 水鴨、小魚優遊自在。河岸兩旁綠草如茵，植滿了白楊、梧桐、垂柳等，點綴的花叢。穿越城市與花園，欣賞美麗浪漫。

Mona Vale in Spring...always a stunning place. The earthquake has damaged the homestead, but hopefully it will be saved. Amazingly the big glasshouse is still in one piece. The gardens look superb, and the fragrances and the birdsongs are brilliant.

基督城沿著雅芳河而建，也因著雅芳河畔的美景而有花園城市的美譽，其中位於哈格利公園西北側利卡敦 (Riccarton) 地區的夢娜維爾花園 (Mona Vale) ，則被公認為基督城花園中的經典代表。夢娜維爾花園面積約 5.5 公頃，西元 1899-1900 年間由當時的貿易商 Frederick Waymouth 興建為私人農莊。古典的二層磚造豪宅係模仿英國都鐸王朝 (Tudor) 的建築風格，當時的基督城另有多棟建築也都是以都鐸風格為藍本。

Spring garden in Christchurch, NZ
Just as a change from my usual kite videos, I took this while testing a new camera. Spring arrived a little early, but then a huge storm the day before I did the filming brought down a lot of trees around the city and somewhat damaged the display of flowers.
