The origins of the National Museum of Mongolia date back to 1924, when the first collections were begun for a national museum. The present building of the museum was built in 1971, when it was erected as the Museum of Revolution. At the time, the collections of ethnography, prehistory, middle history, national history and paleontology were housed in the building of the Central Museum, built in 1956.
In 1991, the ethnography, prehistory and middle history collections of the Central Museum were combined with 20th-century history materials at the Museum of Revolution to create the collections of the National Museum of Mongolian History. Since April 2008 the museum has been renamed as the National Museum of Mongolia.
Permanent collection: The National Museum of Mongolia is the nation’s largest museum and holds a collection of over 57,000 objects relating to Central Asian history and the history of Mongolia from prehistory to the end of the 20th century, with a portion of the collected artifacts on display in ten exhibition halls. The latter include Ancient History of Mongolia; Ancient States; Traditional Clothing and Jewelry; the Mongolian Empire; Mongolian Traditional Culture; Mongolian Traditional Life; 17th-20th Century Mongolia; Mongolia 1911-1920; Socialist Mongolia (1921-1990); Democratic Mongolia (1990-present).
On average, the Museum receives around 60,000 visitors each year, of which 30,000 are foreign visitors and 30,000 are nationals, including 9000 students and 12,000 children and young people.
Education, information, outreach and similar activities have been implemented to attract visitors and raise awareness of national cultural heritage. The Museum has carried out joint projects with museums and scientific organisations from the USA, Korea, Japan, Russian Federation, Germany and China.
Since 2008, the National Museum provides all museums in the country with professional-methodological guidance and information. It has hosted conferences, held museum workshops, produced research publications in addition to exhibition catalogues. The Museum has two regular publications: ‘Nomadic Heritage Studies’ (research paper, published twice a year); and ‘Museum News’ (museum methodologies and news, published twice a year).
The Museum has a staff of 60. It is supported through admission fees and government funding from the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism.

The National Museum of Mongolia (Mongolian: Монголын үндэсний түүхийн музей); formerly the National Museum of Mongolian History is located in Ulaanbaatar. This museum is a cultural, scientific, and educational organization, which is responsible for the collection, conservation and interpretation of the objects under its curation.
The first museum in Mongolia, the Mongolian National Museum (now the Mongolian Natural History Museum), was established in 1924 and became the basis for other museums, including the National Museum of Mongolian History. Russian scholars, such as Pyotr Kozlov, V. I. Lisovskii, A. D. Simukov, and the American researcher Roy Chapman Andrews contributed to the museum's early collections and exhibits.
The modern National Museum of Mongolian History was established after the merger of the historical, archaeological and ethnographical departments of the State Central Museum and the Museum of the Revolution in 1991. It is now located in a facility built for the Museum of the Revolution, which was founded in 1971. The National Museum of Mongolia is currently recognized as one of the leading museums in Mongolia. The significant responsibility for preserving Mongolian cultural heritage therefore lies with the museum. It is also responsible for developing museological guidelines for museums in the nation.
Exhibitions cover prehistory, pre-Mongol Empire history, Mongol Empire, Mongolia during Qing rule, ethnography and traditional life, and twentieth-century history. The ethnographic collection has significant displays of the traditional dress of various Mongolian ethnic groups and of snuff bottles. Most exhibits have labels in both Mongolian and English. The museum publishes one or more issues of its in-house journal each year, with articles in Mongolian and foreign languages, including Russian and English.

Climbing Genghis Khan's 40 Metre Statue | Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Our final day in Mongolia meant we had to leave our ger camp and make our way back to the train to continue on our Trans-Siberian journey. But not without first stopping at arguably Mongolia's most popular landmark - the 40 metre tall statue of Mongol Emperor, Genghis Khan (or Chinggis Khaan). Such an incredible statue to visit and home to a few fun activities - meaning we got to try our hand at archery! Back on the train this afternoon and ready for the journey into the Russian motherland.

Entry from: Ulan Bator, Mongolia
Entry Title: Mongolian Chunder!
Entry:
The moon is half way there outside, the chill air penetrates the holey windows of Gana's Guest-house the three tungsten bulbs lighting up the large communal are where I am sitting alone tonight. It has been a long day, not one step closer to seeing sights, always fleeting through the cities we visit, leaving as if we were locals. Not having been to any museums, walking the streets without maps and with purpose. The scuttle of my fingers on the keyboard stop occasionally, the sound continuing on and I look around to see a solitary mouse running along the wall to safety in the holes along the wall. Outside stand four Gers, the Mongolian nomadic homes, yurts if you like, set up on the rooftop of the rest of the house. The reception outside is also a ger, though rather than made from felt and wooden poles that can be disassembled at the owners whim, it is made of mortar and a beaten steel sheet roof.
We have arrived in Mongolia. Safely I might add, though again, if first impressions made any impressions on me, I would hate the place, and be disgruntled with its inhabitants, buddhism and police. But they do not. And I am not. Why don't I start at the beginning. We have arrived in Mongolia, early, after a good nights sleep. We stood at the Russian-Mongolian border for around 4 hours. We were allowed off the train, which was nice, though there was nothing to see, but the big old Russian style yellow train station, and I heard there was a couple of stores, where people got beer, and proceeded to get drunk beyond words. We were not some of those people. I was fearing for my antler, which I sneaked into my bag, weighing it down considerably, though I fancied I might try my hand at some bone carving and save myself some money at Christmas presents. Customs were smooth, passports checked, and we were saluted into Mongolia by a full honour guard, as our train was checked thoroughly, and waved into the country I was looking forward to most.
In the distance, the rivers flowed towards us to join our track, following us along Nomad Yurts, wild horses racing up the gully right next to our train, the nomad children waving as we passed, the sun setting behind the mountains in the distance, green as far as the eye can see.
This all soon disappeared, and the land took on the dress of Civilization, industrial yards, rubbish and our first train station, ShuuBaatar popped into the picture. We stood here for three or four hours too, and when the toilets were not looking like they were going to be opened for a few hours, we went for the closed Duty Free building to enjoy the holes in the floors. Up till this point, our train was two solitary wagons standing in the station by themselves, surrounded by milling Mongolians, waiting for something, good natured, smiling.
When I came out of the toilet, the scene changed. Drastically. At first, I thought our train became longer. But then I realized that there was a much longer one parked in front of it. I patted my pockets. Passport -- Check. Wallet -- Check. Excellent. So I sprinted around the 20 wagon train, and watched as our two wagons, now three, was giving a whistle, and pulled out of the station slowly. Mongolians were clanking the wheels of the other train in the twilight, and I ran. Like never before, grabbed the hand-rails of the first wagon, the doors closed, Jon looking aghast, the rest of the train saying - Oh no! and I was thinking - If I don't let go, the train will stop eventually.
One of the train workers shouted, and pulled me off the train. He laughed, and pointed down the track, which I understood to be It's just going to be tagged on to the end of the long train. Go back to the station. So I did. I did have a passport and enough cash to buy a horse to get to Ulaanbaatar by myself. No problemo! But the train returned, and I didn't have to. One girl had to be calmed down, as she was hyperventilating from the shock of being left behind...
Ulaanbaatar is a scar on the face of Mongolia. That's what the guide-book says. Although two hours after arriving and checking into Gana's we had my camera stolen in a buddhist monastery, I still have faith in it.

Whether this 800th anniversary year in which we build great empires of Mongolia. Realistic active duty military participated in 500 combat scenes for the show I grab the hapjeon and one-on-one game attracted interest as a film. Beautiful Mongolian Girls - Beautiful Mongolian Women
Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel. If you’re new here, please consider subscribing if you enjoy this video.
Reasons to choose Mongolian Women
There is no point in denying that every single man finds his perfect and ideal lady. While some guy would find a girl’s appearance attractive, another would not even look at her. Men have their own personal reasons to date a particular girl. However, you may also agree with the fact that there are some features that most men would want their potential dates and brides to have. In this section, you will learn the reasons to choose beautiful Mongolian women as dates and brides:
They have great skills of English
International dating requires proper communication to learn as much as possible about each other. Most of the time, ladies from Asian countries have an adequate level of English – enough for a man to understand. However, if you are looking for a woman with whom you would like to spend your whole life, Mongolian women would be a perfect choice. They obtain exceptional education and are travel abroad very often.
They would be perfect wives and mothers
A lot of young Mongolian girls are looking for strong and long-term relationships with the future. They want to find a man who would gladly marry them and create a family. Many of mail order brides from Mongolia learn what a proper housewife should know. They master skills of cooking, cleaning, taking care of children, and do everything possible to obtain the prowess of being a housewife.
They want to marry a foreign man
Mongolia has little to offer to young and beautiful ladies there. There is no future for girls from this country to stay there. Therefore, plenty of beautiful Mongolian women decide to look for love and care somewhere else. The Internet and online dating are the perfect places for these ladies to seek trustworthy and reliable men ready to start a family.
The national character or what are Mongolian girls like?
Speaking about Mongolian mail order brides, it is paramount to mention that Mongolian people are incredibly proud and virtuous. Women from Mongolia who want to have serious relationships with a man would have plenty of dates before showing her date signs of affection. It is a part of Mongolian culture to keep the relationships slow – a woman would never allow herself to act frivolously and carelessly. So, if you want to find a woman who is proud, confident, and responsible, you need to seek Mongolian mail brides.

Mongolia, a nation bordered by China and Russia, is known for vast, rugged expanses and nomadic culture. Its capital, Ulaanbaatar, centers around Chinggis Khaan (Genghis Khan) Square, named for the notorious founder of the 13th- and 14th-century Mongol Empire. Also in Ulaanbaatar are the National Museum of Mongolia, displaying historic and ethnographic artifacts, and the restored 1830 Gandantegchinlen Monastery.

Hi, I am Battsengel Rentsen.. I work in the genre of historic art. My work has been exhibited at the Mongolian National History Museum in Ulan-Bator. I have been drawing the Secret History of the Mongols for the last 28 years.
I started working on this project 7 years ago. I published the first volume “VOLUME-I” in 2014. The second volume“VOLUME-II” was published in 2015 and I am currently working on the third volume VOLUME-III.
We are illustrating the history of an orphaned boy who ruled the world. You might have read a number of accounts of great people. But this is the history of the “Man of the Millennium” and we are sure that you will enjoy it. There have been numerous accounts and books written about Chinggis Khan, however, this project is developed from the original source which was created in 1240. And will demonstrate a yet undiscovered world depicting ancient Mongolian culture and society in addition to learning of the secret history of how a 9 year old orphaned boy abandoned with no support, challenged the status quo and established a great empire. His story has been published globally in 26 languages. However, the “Popular Edition” being created by us is fully illustrated, albeit with a simpler content to give the reader a better understanding of the Mongolian history and culture.
One of the Great men in the world history, Chinggis Khan (1162-1227)
His life was characterized by harsh struggles, many adventures and challenges. He accomplished many feats during his lifetime, most likely more so than any other character in history. Earlier opinion was that he was understood to be a conqueror and destroyer due to the written accounts from the nations that he occupied.
However, on the eve of the new millennium this viewpoint has changed dramatically to one where he has been credited with progressing the prosperity of mankind with his sharp mind and contributions to the development of the “modern world”.
Researches have credited his success to various characteristics. He had a remarkable skill in recognizing people, a genuine ability to convert enemies to friends. He never forgot a favor or underestimated the strengths of his colleagues.
He honored intelligence and encouraged innovation as he himself initiated a new era of military strategy. He was the first man to declare and uphold freedom of religion. You could make these discoveries by researching a variety of scripts, however, you would be best served by reading and feeling the primary source called MNT yourself.
What is the Secret history of the Mongols?
The secret History of the Mongols is primarily a script generally recording the events of the time. There is very little description with regard to the appearance of the people, lifestyles, clothes, implements and instruments used. Therefore in the mind of the reader there is very little detail with regard to cultural attire and the different appearances of the ethnic minorities. Needless to say, very few foreign readers are acquainted with the structure of the Mongolian yurt.
Therefore to complement the script is was necessary that it be illustrated. In so doing the illustrations create images to compensate and enrich the script enhancing the information, not only as decoration but expanding the readers understanding of the context in which it was written. Thus we are working hard to produce a creation that reflects the latest research finding with regard to the history, anthropology and archeology, indicating every aspect of the lifestyle in the thirteenth century Mongolia. Encompassing, garments, palaces, food, dance, music, weapons, armor, script, culture and art.
