Monkey Magrove Tour Costa Rica 2016
I had such a fun time on the Monkey Mangrove Tour in Costa Rica. Having fingers that taste like bananas helps. I have to admit, the boat and cruise in the mangroves seemed very similar to the Jungle Cruise ride at Walt Disney World except these animals were indeed real. Cue the birds...

Monkeys - horseback riding in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica The Monkey Farm at www.TheMonkeyFarm.org
TheMonkeyFarm.org Look at the family of monkeys seen while horseback riding in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica, with The Monkey Farm.
The Monkey Farm is a non-profit organization made up of volunteers from all over the world creating a revolutionary new “think outside the box” model for monkey and wildlife rescue. We are at Playa Ocotal beach in Costa Rica. Our wildlife are free-range so they can go back into the wild when they decide they are ready, rather than having it forced upon them, or worse, keeping them in cages long after they are ready to be free. We do not exploit our animals, therefore we never charge visitors to see the animals, nor do we charge for volunteering and working with the animals. We're also striving to make the farm sustainable and self-sufficient using organic permaculture methods. Come and visit or volunteer at The Monkey Farm in Playa Ocotal, Guanacaste, Costa Rica, just minutes from Playa del Coco. Contact Vicki Conley for more info, or visit our website at TheMonkeyFarm.org

Costa Rica, RIOTICO SAFARI LODGE
Welcome to the Rio Tico Safari Lodge!
Along the Southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica lies the Costa Ballena and our unique hotel, The Rio Tico Safari Lodge. It has nine Safari Tent Bungalows and three hotel rooms situated in a tropical garden near a crystal-clear river. Located four kilometres from the coastal highway in Vergel de Punta Mala, we are surrounded by mountainous rainforest.
Our Safari Tents offer a direct experience with a Costa Rican tropical rainforest and will unite you with the natural bounty of Costa Rica. Here in the virgin rainforest, you will awaken every morning to the sounds of birds and howler monkeys. Our roomy Safari Tents are very comfortable with private bathrooms, spacious verandas and have beautiful views of the river and surrounding mountains. Enjoy the scenery of the rainforest while bird watching from your veranda or have a refreshing swim in the natural pools of the river; we leave it up to you.
The Rio Tico Safari Lodge is situated in between two very special national parks, Marino Ballena and Corcovado. In Marino Ballena National Park you can enjoy everything this rich coast has to offer: whales, dolphins, turtles and brightly colored fish. Corcovado National Park is the habitat of tapirs, toucans, scarlet macaws, coatis, agoutis and the four Costa Rican species of monkeys. National Geographic stated that Corcovado National Park contains the most intense biodiversity in the world.
At the Rio Tico Safari Lodge, we not only would like you to experience the natural beauty of Costa Rica, but also the Costa Rican culture and hospitality of the village of Vergel de Punta Mala. The villagers offer hiking and horseback riding on their farms and through the rainforest. Just a short distance from the Rio Tico Safari Lodge there is a magnificent and a picture perfect waterfall. In addition, beach lovers can visit the pristine and deserted beaches of Playa Tortuga and Las Ventanas, only six kilometres from the lodge.

Rainforest Boat Ride down Tortuguero Canal in Costa Rica
Video of my boat ride down Tortuguero Canal in beautiful Costa Rica. During my boat ride I seen sloths, monkeys, bats, iguanas, caimans, one crocodile and a lot of birds. The canal runs through Tortuguero National Park which is on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Despite it's remote location it is the third most visited park in Costa Rica and is reached only by airplane or boat. The park is home to many animals including manatees, crocodiles, 4 species of turtles, lowland pacas, peccaries, Baird's tapirs, white tailed deers, armadillos, frogs, salamanders, peacocks, toucans, jaguars, basilisk (Jesus lizard), bats, caimans, sloths, four species of monkeys, iguanas and 375 species of birds including the mangrove swallow, kingfisher, ibis, blue herons, parrots, cranes, vultures and many other animals. The park has over 20 miles of coastline which provide sea turtles a protected place to lay their eggs. Also home to the park are more than 400 species of trees and about 2,200 species of plants. The parks diversity is due to the existence within the reserve of eleven different habitats including rainforest, mangrove forests, swamps, beaches and lagoons. Located in a tropical climate, it is very humid and receives up to 250 inches of rain a year and over 330 days of cloud cover per year.
