Kencor Hydraulic Elevator @ Monmouth Mall - Eatontown, New Jersey
Shot 6/30/18. This is the main mall elevator. i like the set up of this elevator. Floors one and three serve the multi level portion of the mall while floor two serves the single level portion of the mall. This elevator runs fine. There was a mystery fluid in this elevator. Probably someone dropped their beverage at one point.
Monmouth Mall - Raw & Real Retail
This is our walkthrough of the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, NJ from March 30, 2019. This is thriving mall in central New Jersey just south of New York City. It's a pretty nice, well maintained mall owned by one of the biggest REITs in the country right now. With attractive examples of each anchor spot (except the vacant Lord & Taylor) and decent, not totally whitened color tones throughout, this was a pretty decent mall to walk through.

Here is some poorly cited information from Wikipedia:
Monmouth Mall, an enclosed split level shopping center in Eatontown, New Jersey owned and managed by Brookfield Properties Retail Group, is located on the corner of the intersection of NJ 35, NJ 36, and Wyckoff Road (Route 547). Currently, the mall has a gross leasable area of 1,500,000 sq ft, making it the fourth largest shopping mall in New Jersey (tied with Willowbrook Mall), boasting over 150 shops. The mall is located near the Garden State Parkway at exit 105 and NJ 18 near the former location of the Eatontown Circle.
Anchor stores at the mall are Boscov's, J. C. Penney, and Macy's. Lord & Taylor left the mall in 2019.
Opened on March 1, 1960, as a 600,000-square-foot, 14-building, 50-store open-air center, originally called Monmouth Shopping Center, original anchors of the mall consisted of Bamberger's and Montgomery Ward, which became Alexander's in 1975. The mall was enclosed and expanded to its current size in 1975. The older section of the mall continued to be one level while the new expansion was two levels anchored by Abraham & Straus, Hahne's and JCPenney that appeared in this mall in 1976.
In 1987, the mall was renovated. The renovation brought in new lighting, new flooring, and new glass and chrome handrails along the second level; took out the in-floor planters and replaced them with movable planters; closed off the mall entrance near the former arcade on the Wyckoff Road side of the old wing; and raised the lowered seating areas in front of the anchors.
In 1994-1996, the mall was expanded to include an elevator and a food court (modeled after a Jersey Shore theme) including 1920s style beach photos wrapped around the columns in the older section of the mall, as well as Nobody Beats the Wiz, a new 15-screen Loews Theatres (now AMC) and Old Navy to replace the closed Caldor. The mall also saw minor cosmetic changes that consisted of replacing black with sky blue in the color schemes through painting and retiling, as well as new lighting along the pillars.
Through the years, Monmouth Mall has seen many different anchors that have come and gone, however, J.C. Penney was built by themselves in 1976 and remains to this day. In 1987, the Bamberger's brand was eliminated and the store was renamed for its parent corporation, Macy's. Anchor changes consisted of Caldor replacing Alexander's in 1986, Macy's replacing the former store Bamberger's in 1987, Lord & Taylor replacing the former store Hahne's in 1990, Stern's replacing Abraham & Straus in 1995 and Boscov's replacing Stern's in 2001. In 2010, Planet Fitness opened at Monmouth Mall.
Monmouth Mall went through a significant expansion in 2009. In mid-2010, cosmetic renovations started at the mall including new tile, paint, lighting, and a complete overhaul of the food court. The renovations lasted until summer 2011.
In 2012, Vornado Realty Trust announced plans to sell its portfolio of enclosed shopping malls. In August 2015, Vornado's fifty percent stake and management in the Monmouth Mall was sold to co-owner Kushner Companies for $38 million.
As part of a proposal issued in January 2018 named The Heights At Monmouth, announced back in 2017, the two-story wing covering 300,000 square feet that includes Boscov's would be demolished and additions totaling 900,000 square feet would bring the mall's total gross leasable area to 1,500,000 square feet. During this time, Monmouth Mall owner Kushner Companies partnered with Rouse Properties (now Brookfield Properties Retail Group) for the redevelopment. The redevelopment was approved on July 16, 2018. The new plans include opening up the two story mall corridor and also create new outdoor corridors. The anchor tenants (except Boscov's, which is owned by the mall owners and Lord & Taylor) will remain unaffected.
On September 7, 2018, it was announced that Lord & Taylor would be closing as part of a plan to close 10 stores nationwide. The store closed in January 2019.

CHRISTMAS 2018 Shop With Me At BOSCOV'S Department Store At Monmouth Mall
Christmas 2018 at Boscov’s department store at Monmouth Mall in New Jersey
Recently, Boscov’s department store announced that it will be expanding to Providence, Rhode Island during 2019. Some puzzled Rhode Islanders responded, Boscov's? What's that? So we searched to discover Boscov’s and found that there are 47 stores including in states such as Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Ohio.
The Friday after Thanksgiving holiday is known as Black Friday. On Thanksgiving weekend (2018), I shopped at Boscov’s department store at Monmouth Mall in New Jersey. This video shows the large collection of “As Seen on TV” products sold at Boscov’s store. Here is the link:

This Video is not sponsored by Boscov’s. The store is named after Solomon “Sol” Boscov, an immigrant from Russia who opened In Pennsylvania the first of this family-owned chain of department stores back in the early twentieth century.

ThyssenKrupp Oildraulic Elevator - Modell's Sporting Goods - Monmouth Mall - Eatontown, NJ
This elevator was kinda shaky and made some noises, but it's still a pretty good elevator! It also takes a while to level, typical for some TK Auroras.
Otis Series 1 Hydraulic Elevator to Mall Management - Monmouth Mall - Eatontown, NJ
This was just a typical Mid to late 90s Otis Series 1 Mid-Generation Elevator. It ran very well and has an EPIC motor that you can kind of hear even though the fan was on. It also has one of my favorite Otis chimes!

NOISY Montgomery Globe Hydraulic Elevator @ JCPenney @ the Monmouth Mall, Eatontown, NJ, Part 1
I was bored and wanted to do an elevator race and when I pushed the button to call the elevator, Car 2 came before Car 1 and I think that Car 2 has a louder motor than Car 1. The third floor was not an actual floor so I got scared that the people might get angry. The elevator indicator was broken on this elevator because the lights burned out but it works fine on Car 1. This was the best elevator I have ever been on. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Enjoy! :D
AWESOME NEW Montgomery/KONE Hydraulic Elevators in JCPenney @ the Monmouth Mall in Eatontown, NJ
After I noticed that they changed the buttons, elevator indicator, etc. on the elevator, I wanted to film this elevator real quick for you guys to see a really cool KONE elevator, that is known as the former Montgomery Globe. For the first time in a while, Car #1 is up and ready to go and it is a good thing because Car #2 makes too much noise when it moves. The elevator chime sounds better now because they added speakers to the fixtures. The thing I like the most is that on KONE elevators, the Door Open and Door Close buttons glow once pressed because I never saw that before in person. I did not go to the 3rd floor because I might have gotten in trouble by the employees. That is like the Forbidden Floor. I really like this change to the elevator because it makes it more modern and the elevator indicator sounds loud so you know when you reach the designated floor. If you guys have any questions about the video, go ahead and ask away and also, please let me know if I missed anything in the description box. Enjoy! :D

HAPPY ESCALATOR MONDAY! SHORT OTIS Escalators @ Monmouth Mall, Eatontown, NJ
These are the short escalators that connect the 2 level mall with the 1 level mall. The mall is being renovated (and it REALLY needed it). Hopefully the former Boscov's/Stern's/A&S will get a new tenant soon.
Monmouth Freeway (NJ 18 Exits 13 to 19) northbound
The Monmouth Freeway provides a truck route & bypass of the Garden State Parkway through interior Monmouth County, as well as an alternate route to the shore points in the area. (but would be much more useful in the latter role if it didn't end at milepost 5.1...)

For Historic Overview:
Montgomery Hydraulic Elevator - Lord & Taylor - Monmouth Mall - Eatontown, NJ
This was installed in 1991 which probably replaced a Montgomery G&P elevator. My local mall which is Freehold Raceway Mall probably used to have a Montgomery Vector from 1990 in Lord & Taylor at Freehold Raceway Mall until there was a 1996 expansion in Lord & Taylor which they ripped out the Montgomery elevators there and replaced them with Schindlers in 1996. And by the way the escalators at Lord & Taylor at Freehold Raceway Mall has Montgomery Escalators.
