Drivelapse Australia - Jindabyne to Perisher (in Winter) - 100% GoPro HERO
Here's a Drivelapse video from a couple of months ago.
I have been as crook as a dog for the last 6 weeks with the Flu virus and have not been able to make any videos, so I thought I should polish this one off and upload it.
It around a 45 minute drive from my place to the Ski Resorts at Perisher Valley. It's a nice drive at any time of year but I love the way the snow gradually creeps into the picture.
For the record, when I make a Drivelapsevideo, unlike timelapse where you use a series of photos to create the video, I like to use the video straight from the GoPro camera and speed it up in edit. That way, because the vehicle is moving, I find I get a much smoother video than I would using Photos
Thank you for watching.

STANDARD STUZZ — Episode 2 ft. Troy Sturrock — Perisher Parks / Snowtunes Jindabyne — Snowboarding
We're back with Troy Sturrock for STANDARD STUZZ episode two. The action kicks off at Perisher with Jesse Kennedy and Sunny Steele for an invite-only sunrise shoot on Front Valley. The jumps were in prime condition and the crew took advantage of the perfect light. From there it was on to Snowtunes in Jindabyne for the KFC Rail Jam. Troy caught up with Jye Kearney and Billy Hayman, and let loose with some creative moves on the dance floor. Troy concludes the episode in standard form after a rebuild of Leichhardt's terrain park saw the rail line absolutely firing.

Not just hoons doing skids – women challenging the top guys in rally sport ????????????
The term “female driver” may stir up a variety of connotations, but when it comes to rally driving, women are joining the sport in increasing numbers, with some impressive results.
19-year-old Kirra Penny grew up on the rally circuit with her father, Jindabyne mechanic Andrew Penny. She began co-driving for her dad when she was 15, the youngest co-driver to compete at national level.
Hearing-impaired competitor Lynda Leigh has raced as both a driver and co-driver, and says rallying is the ultimate level playing field. “We all compete on the same roads in the same event, no matter what level you are at, novice to professional, any age or gender, and we can adapt our cars so we can compete.”
Bethany Cullen built and maintains her own rally car, and with co-driver Mel McMinn, competes “just on the edge of the front pack of cars”, challenging teams with much bigger budgets.

JINDABYNE MILL CREEK TRAIL
We rode around the town when we couldn't get into Thredbo MTB Resort due to the intense bush fires of NYE 2020. While not as advanced and steep as Thredbo the trails around the lake were a blast to ride. We set off in hazy conditions that looked a lot like early morning fog but in fact was late afternoon. It wasn't long before a massive smoke monster rolled into town from the West and blanketed us in thick acrid smoke. Lucky we had googles on but breathing was tough, we may as well have been riding high altitude trails.
It's hopefully not a sign of Summers ahead for Australian mountain biking. Climate change is affecting the entire country in so many ways, let's hope that Governments and citizens can make real changes that limit how many degrees our average temperatures get to. Otherwise, this post apocalyptic landscape will be the new norm.

Jindabyne and the Alpine region has some of the most amazing mountainbiking terrain I’ve seen,” said IMBA USA’s Joey Kline on his last trip to Australia.
Like so many ski towns around the world, Jindabyne is seeing an ‘off-season’ mountainbiking boom. As the Lake Jindabyne Trail gets the go-ahead, and Thredbo, Lake Crackenback and Bungarra all invest in Jindabyne's mountainbike trails - and the town's future - local government and businesses are finally jumping on the singletrack bandwagon. Jindabyne has enough exciting new and old trails for mountainbikers of all levels to enjoy, and there's way more to come.
The terrain will blow your mind. New mountainbike trails are springing up aroudn Jindabyne and its surrounding area, with another four new mountainbiking areas created or grown from old trails thanks to the work of local government and riders.
New trails are being built from the Jindabyne dam wall as part of the Lake Jindabyne Trail. The TVT trail, from Thredbo to the Skitube, is progressing; Crackenback Resort trails are growing; and a whole new network of trails called Bungarra are taking shape for the newly formed Jindabyne Mountain Bike Club. Plus the Thredbo Downhill has got a long awaited A-line.
All within half an hour drive of the town and each other, these tracks include black, blue and green trails, flow tracks, pump tracks, obstacle courses, and some unbelievably sweet, undulating singletrack.
The Tyrolean trail network has just had a massive upgrade as part of the development for the Lake Jindabyne Trail, a 70–100km trail circling the lake.
The new section of trail with the catchy name ‘The Mill Creek Trail Section 1B’ has been designed to IMBA standards and is a multi-use shared trail, with massive berms, switchbacks and lots of undulations that become doubles and triples depending on your riding ability.
This new trail is heaps of fun and provides easy access to the more technical trails within the Tyrolean Mountain Bike Trail network. Novice riders and XC riders will enjoy the new Mill Creek Trail, with its smooth flowing trail, easy climbing (not steeper than 10 degrees) and majestic views overlooking Lake Jindabyne and the Snowy Mountains.
Existing Tyrolean Trails include green, blue and black downhill runs. If you feel challenged on Tyrolean’s downhills, you’d better buckle up for the climb out, because Tyrolean has equally challenging climbs.
Advanced/black runs at Tyrolean include two North Shore-style technical freeride runs. Other trails offer a variety of terrain in a single run, and you could find yourself ploughing through rock gardens, jumps, berms, switchbacks or fast downhills sections all on the same descent.
Riders of all levels will love Tyrolean for its accessibility and challenging climbs and technical riding. You’ll need two to three hours to ride them all.
Lake Crackenback Resort on the Alpine Way has over 10km of cross- country singletrack around the resort. From the golf course, the first section heads down along the Thredbo River, negotiating a few tricky little turns, rock gardens and dips. From there a beautiful singletrack follows the river – if you fish, take a rod – and then turns 180 degrees and heads back up to Lake Crackenback Resort along a less technical trail for a few kilometres.
There is a small skills course between the main office and the golf course where you can hone your technical skills and blow off those last few bits
of steam before calling it day.
Riding at Lake Crackenback Resort is free – just register at the office. The resort has a bike hire shop and a small cafe next to the main office.
At Thredbo, the TVT Trail (from Thredbo Valley to Bullock Flat) will follow the Thredbo River, linking up with Crackenback resort trail. There will be about seven river crossings as the trail winds down Thredbo Valley.
