Montana: A Little Farther North
From the original press release: Montana's excitingly beautiful ski film, showing some of the world's finest exhibition skiers - including Eddie Ferguson and Scott Brooksbank - skiing the greatest snow on earth in such Montana hot-spots as Big Mountain, Big Sky, Bridger Bowl, Montana Snow Bowl, and Red Lodge Mountain. High speed photography slows the acrobatic maneuvers to a slow motion ballet performed in a breathtaking world of snow and sky. Exhibition ski-teams from Head, White Stag, K-2 and Salomon skim the slopes, float the powder, swim through surging seas of snow-spume. Outstanding aerial photography makes the viewer airborne, too - and Montana wildlife joins the cast to add a final touch of excitement to one of the finest skiing films ever produced. The 28-minute color movie was filmed by nationally known ski cinematographer Jim Rice of Whitefish, Montana and was produced by Montana Power Company in cooperation with the Montana State Advertising Unit and Northwest Orient Airlines. Produced in 1973. (collection MOV 0099)

Missoula Montana - Winter Wonderland
4k video of winter in Missoula, Montana by videographer & photographer Brian Powers. Please like and subscribe for more!
Missoula is a magical winter wonderland… From the inversion, to the frost and the snow covered mountains, it’s truly beautiful in all four seasons.
While shooting this video over the last couple of years, I have enjoyed the memories with loved ones and the art created. From filming on a quiet Christmas evening while cross-country skiing down the freshly blanketed streets of Missoula, to hiking the many trails in Pattee Canyon and the Rattlesnake with my family and my dog, Kula. Downhill skiing on the steep slopes of Snowbowl, to jumping out of the car with my daughter to catch massive snowflakes on our tongues around the University of Montana… I hope you take a moment to enjoy the silence and beauty of winter, it’s worth every goosebump, shiver and snowflake on your tongue.
Let’s put on our boots and take a walk along the Clark Fork River, while watching the sun dance across Mount Sentinel. ✌????
