Monte Bernardi Tzingarella | One Minute of Wine Episode #539
Welcome to One Minute of Wine - a daily video series from Elma Wine & Liquor. Join Tim as he reviews a bottle of wine everyday in sixty seconds or less. Today Tim reviews Monte Bernardi Tzingarella. This is a red blend from Tuscany, Italy and is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Colorino. This wine is also considered a Super Tuscan. This is a term used to describe red wines from Tuscany that may include the use of non-indigenous grapes. The vineyard also practices biodynamic farming methods which are very similar to organic methods. The owner of the winery, Michael Schmelzer, was actually a United States citizen before moving to Italy to open his winery in 2003. This wine offers aromas of ripe cherry with earthy notes. Flavors of those ripe cherries right off the bat with hints of sweet tobacco. Firm tannins and a good structure lead to a long and smooth finish. Cheers!
