Lo que mas llama la atención en La Gran Sabana es el Tepuy Roraima, esta compuesto de cuarcitas y areniscas, es un importante relieve tabular en forma de meseta, presentando una cumbre totalmente plana y paredes verticales, en las cuales se precipitan bellos saltos de agua, es la mas alta de todas con una altura de 2.890 msnm, donde el tiempo se detuvo hace miles de años, dejándonos su legado para que usted lo disfrute. Aquí la tierra se yergue entre esparcidos de Tepuyes. Son afloramientos del Macizo Guayanés, una de las rocas más antiguas del planeta. El Monte Roraima nos aguarda con sus 300 mil millones de años de antigüedad para maravillarnos. Este Tepuy se posa en los bordes entre Venezuela, Guyana (Zona en Reclamación) y Brasil. Cuyo nombre significa en Pemón “La Madre de todas las Aguas”.
Este Tepuy se ha mantenido aislado a los cambios del planeta logrando preservar su “Jurásico Ecosistema” del Período Precámbrico. Muchos científicos coinciden que en este punto ocurrió la separación de los continentes “Pangea”. Rocas negras envueltas en neblina y cubiertas de liquen y musgo dominan el terreno, es un paisaje paradisíaco.
Este Monumento Natural es el testigo de los cambios del mundo por cientos de miles de años y depende de nosotros que su existencia lo haga llegar al final de los tiempos. Por eso es tan importante el comportamiento de los excursionistas y visitantes para la preservación de este Legado Natural. Ascender este majestuoso Tepuy se convertirá en una experiencia que no debe dejar de visitar al menos una vez en su vida, por ello queremos invitarlos a tener una experiencia mágica, una aventura única, una expedición hacia tierras amables como su gente, donde su espíritu será rebozado de la energía positiva que emana esta tierra y su vista se llenará de verdes y azules profundos.

The Venezuela crisis is is breaking news today in 2019.
With Nicolas Maduro getting almost as attention as Donald Trump, and Juan Guaido being recognized as the new president, people are speaking of protests, upheavals, and even an upcoming coup.
Our hearts go out the the Venezuelan people. Myself and my travel companion Lexie Alford visited this beautiful place late 2018, with the mission to show another side of a country in crisis. We planned to show the beauty of the people, and the natural beauty of the country.
This is not a video about the current econimical or political situation. This is a Venezuela travel vlog of what we experienced as tourists.
We begin our adventure from flying from Miami to Caracas. Arrival at the airport was not filmed, we wanted to keep to ourselves until we could understand the real risks involved. He has expected everything to be much better than the news portrayed, and it seemed true. The next morning we take a small prop plane from Caracas to Canaima National Park, home of Angel Falls. Upon arriving we saw nobody, it was deserted except for a few staff who directed us to the hotel.
That afternoon we booked a tour to a waterfall known as Salto Sapo, known as Frog Falls, and fell in love immedialtely. This was going to be an incredible trip.

Teoria de la formacion de las cavidades situadas en la cima de El Sarisariñama (Sarisariñama-Jidi en maquiritare) es un tepuy del Parque Nacional Jaua-Sarisariñama en el extremo sureste del estado Bolívar en Venezuela, cerca de la frontera con Brasil.
Esta meseta es una de las más aisladas del país, encontrándose a cientos de kilómetros de la carretera más cercana. En la actualidad el acceso se encuentra restringido a investigadores científicos exclusivamente.
La característica más distintiva y peculiar de este Tepuy de 2.300 metros de altura es la presencia en sus simas de cavidades prácticamente circulares que aún hoy son un misterio para la geología. Estas profundas depresiones tienen un diámetro en la boca de 350 metros, y una profundidad vertical de 350 metros igualmente. Las paredes de estos pozos, completamente verticales y por lo tanto insuperables para las criaturas que habitan el fondo del precipicio, han permitido aislar un ecosistema único, habiendo especies de plantas y animales que no se encuentran en ninguna otra parte del planeta (endémicas). Estas simas fueron documentadas y exploradas por primera vez en 1974 descubiertas por Charles Brewer-Carías, (Explorador nacido en Caracas, 10 de septiembre de 1938) quien es un naturalista, fotógrafo y explorador Venezolano de gran reputación internacional obtenida gracias a sus trabajos científicos hechos en base a sus expediciones en la Guayana Venezolana. Brewer-Carías ha descubierto más de 20 especies de animales y plantas distintas. También es el descubridor de las cuevas del Cerro Autana en 1971, las simas de Sarisariñama en 1974, y recientemente, un sistema de cuevas de cuarcitas en el tepuy de Chimantá, que llevan su nombre.

The Lost World - Mount Roraima
Mount Roraima is one the most mysterious and alluring mountains in the world. An enormous flat-topped mesa, its sheer cliffs rise from one of the most remote areas of the Amazon rain forest. It is entirely appropriate that Conan Doyle used Roraima as the inspiration for the novel Lost World, a tale of modern dinosaurs.
The mountain is a vast heart-shaped plateau, with the area of the rolling summit area about 50 sq.km or 20 sq. miles. It lies in three countries, but Venezuela controls over 80% of the summit, with Brazil and Guyana owning much smaller slivers. The highest point on the massif, a rock called the Maverick Stone, is in Venezuela, near the southwestern side of the plateau. Several kilometers northeast from this is the Triple-Country Point, a survey monument where the three nations meet.
In these days of popular adventure tourism, the ascent has become a relatively easy trek of about three to five days. There is a ramp on the southwest side of the mountain's mostly sheer cliffs that allows a non-technical route to the summit plateau, very close to the Maverick Stone. The start point for these trips is Santa Elena, Venezuela, and several tour companies arrange them, using native guides and porters.
Highlights from the top of Roraima includes the views from The Window, Maverick (highest peak), the Jazucci, underground caves, the amazon jungle, the neighbouring countries of Guyana and Brazil, and the crystal valley.

This clip is about a 12-day trip to the top of the world - the summit of Roraima Mountain located in Canaima National Park, Venezuela. Half-day travel by four wheel drive on unpaved road, hiking (backpacking) for 2 days to reach the base, sleeping in a tent for 9 days total, away from civilization and conveniences. Taking baths in a river, eating packaged food, climbing the steep rock walls on the edge of the enormous sheer cliffs to 2,810 m (9,219 ft) elevation at the top, rain or shine.
Also known as Monte Roraima, Tepuy Roraima and Cerro Roraima, it's the highest of the Pakaraima chain of tepui plateau in South America. Most of Roraima is covered in the dense tropical rain forests of the Amazon Jungle. The mountain includes the triple border point of Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana.
This trip was to the southeastern corner of Venezuela's Canaima National Park. The tabletop mountains of this lost world are considered some of the oldest geological formations on Earth, dating back to some two billion years ago in the Precambrian with living species of exotic plants and animals found nowhere else on earth and older by age than dinosaurs.

The Lost World - Canaima & Angel Falls
Canaima National Parkis a 30,000 km2 (12,000 sq mi) park in south-eastern Venezuela that borders Brazil and Guyana. It is located in Bolívar State, and roughly occupies the same area as the Gran Sabana region.
About 65% of the park is occupied by plateaus of rock called tepuis, which are a kind of plateau of millions of years old, with vertical walls and almost flat tops. These constitute a unique biological environment and are also of great geological interest. Their sheer cliffs and waterfalls (including Angel Falls, which is the highest waterfall in the world, at 1,002 metres (3,287 ft)) create spectacular landscapes.
The most famous tepuis in the park are Mount Roraima, the tallest and easiest to climb, and Auyantepui, the site of Angel Falls.
Highlights from Canaima National park include the 4 hour boat ride to the base of angel falls, and hiking towards the viewpoint. We stayed adjacent in a small lodging area, sleeping in hammocks and waking up to the distance sound of Angel Falls, clear in view. We first stayed in Canaima at the lagoon, surrounded by spectacular waterfalls, and was also a filming location for Jurassic Park.

Uno de los lugares más fabulosos de Venezuela, es sin duda alguna, la Laguna Canaima y sus alrededores. En esta laguna se pueden ver los saltos Hacha, Wadaima, Golondrina y Ucaima. La laguna de Canaima puede ser navegada en curiaras (canoas) para acercarse a sus saltos.
Una de las cosas que más llama la atención es el color del agua, que es completamente rojiza, debido a la gran cantidad de minerales que contiene. Así mismo la arena tiene un suave color rosado, por efecto del cuarzo.

One of the most fabulous places in Venezuela, is undoubtedly the Canaima Lagoon and its surroundings. In this lake you can see the jumps: Hacha, Wadaima, Golodrina and Ucaima. Canaima Lagoon can be navigated in curiaras (canoes) to approach their jumps.
One of the things that stands out is the color of water, which is completely red, because of the large amount of minerals it contains. Also the sand is a soft pink color, the effect of quartz.

Canaima National Park is spread over 3 million ha in south-eastern Venezuela along the border between Guyana and Brazil. Roughly 65% of the park is covered by table mountain (tepui) formations. The tepuis constitute a unique biogeological entity and are of great geological interest. The sheer cliffs and waterfalls, including the world's highest (1,000 m), form a spectacular landscape.
