Lago di Bracciano, Italy, and Neaby Towns

Lago di Bracciano is a volcanic lake in the Province of Rome, Region of Lazio, Italy. It is surrounded by some interesting and beautiful towns including Bracciano, Anguillara, Trevignano, Manziana, and Canale Monterano.

Suggestive Villa, in a splendid landscape scenery

Bracciano Lake - Monterano's Natural Reserve
Not far from Monterano's Natural Reserve, of considerable historic and naturalistic interest, and few kilometres from Bracciano Lake, it is a particularly suggestive villa, because placed in a splendid landscape scenery.
The residence has a surface of 200 m2 on the same level and it is surrounded by 2 hectares of parkland with forest trees and many flowering plants. Part of land is used as orchard and olive grove.
The park boasts a cold greenhouse, a barnyard and a wonderful swimming pool surrounded by greenery where to relax. Noteworthy is the large portico of 130 m2 with furnishings for garden to create a relaxing and cosy atmosphere.
Inside the rooms are very bright, because present large glass doors from which the light filters and makes warm and comfortable rooms.
The villa is made up of a wide living area which has at one's disposal a living room with chimney, a studio and a dining room from which we enter to the kitchen. The sleeping area consists of four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an utility room.

Italy Underrated - Part II is the continuation and the last video of my travel to Italy where I revisited some of my favorite places around Bracciano.


Bracciano with its lake and nearby villages is absolute incredible when it comes to beauty, history and curiosities.


As mentioned in the video, la Caldara di Manziana could not be visited but I found a really nice video from the channel Squarci that kindly agreed on letting me post a link to a video with beautiful images from the place.

La città abbandonata due volte

La città morta di Galeria è il soggetto di un documentario di cui sono il regista e di un libro del quale ho curato l'impaginazione e realizzato una parte delle foto.

Galeria è una piccola città in rovina, situata a nord-ovest di Roma. Centro abitato molto antico, forse di origine etrusca, nel Medioevo è un castello.

Galeria fu assediata, espugnata e saccheggiata. Ciò nonostante, la vita andò avanti per secoli, tra alti e bassi.

Il mulino, azionato dal fiume Arrone, ha macinato a lungo tanto frumento. Residenza di passaggio dei nobili Orsini di Bracciano, ha ospitato per una notte l'imperatore Carlo V.

Abbandonata dai suoi abitanti due secoli fa, è stata oggetto di pellegrinaggio da parte di visitatori affascinati dai suoi ruderi silenziosi e dalla natura che vi si è insediata.

Oggi è un parco naturale, ma appare trascurato e minacciato dall'inciviltà e dal vandalismo. Sopravviverà la memoria di Galeria a questo secondo abbandono?
