Peters Township Community and Real Estate
In the horse country of Washington County, just thirty minutes south of Pittsburgh, sits the lovely community of Peters Township. This town embodies the very best of elegant country living, combining stunning homes and great amenities with acre upon acre of public parks and private farm lands passed down through the generations.
Some residents of Peters are drawn to the biking and hiking opportunities on the Montour trail, while others may value the school system that is consistently well ranked by US News and World Reports. This township seems to offer a little something for everyone seeking a life focused on spending time with family in the great outdoors.
While Peters was initially formed as a farming community, the coal industry later became a prominent player in this area. Still, Peters Township remained a sparsely populated rural community until the 1950s, when it began to see incremental population growth that continued through the rest of the century and beyond.
Today Peters is a thriving suburb of Pittsburgh, fostering business enterprises and home ownership alike through its emphasis on low taxes and its proximity to major oil and gas corporations nearby. And for those who need to get into the city for work or play, the T, Pittbsurgh's light rail system, can transport Peters residents all the way downtown in a matter of minutes.
And the homes here are nothing if not magnificent. You can find castle-like structures, grand old farmhouses, and spacious manor homes, all surrounded by ample land. The simple fact is the residential options in Peters are nothing short of splendid.
So whether you are looking for nature trails to explore, a quick commute to a suburban workplace, or a new construction home with low costs and remarkable views, Peters Township offers a high caliber of living.
