What is Yuujou?
Six genuine people from different cultural backgrounds set out on a unique adventure to show the power of friendship around the world. The international media art project Yuujou is an excellent example for humanity and the wonders that can be achieved if we only open ourselves to connecting with others.
Yuujou is a 100-day travel adventure from Berlin to Tokyo! Through an extraordinary travel experiment Yuujou wants to show the importance of friendship. In April 2019, two teams of three people each start their journey in Berlin. One team goes east, the other one west. Within 100 days, both teams try to make it to the other side of the world – Japan. The journey is a real adventure! The route unfolds along the way, because the travelers only travel from one friend to another: The next stop must be a friend of the previous friend. If the teams meet again in Japan, a chain of friendship around the world is created.

#Romanovs100: THE END
Give us Patience, Lord to us thy children,
In these dark stormy days to bear,
the persecution of our people,
the tortures falling to our shores.
Give us strength, just God to us who need it,
the persecutors to forgive,
our heavy painful cross to carry,
and thy great meekness to achieve.
When we are plundered and insulted,
in days of mutinous unrest,
we turn for help to thee, Christ Savior,
that we may stand the bitter test.
Lord of the world, God of Creation,
Give us thy blessing through our prayer,
give us peace of heart O master,
this hour of utmost dread to bear.
and on the threshold of the grave,
breathe power divine into our clay,
that we, Thy children, may find strength,
in meekness for our foes to pray.

A friend of the family, poet Sergey Bekhteev dedicated this poem to Grand Duchesses Olga and Tatiana and sent it to them in a letter to Tobolsk. Olga copied the poem by hand and put the copy into one of her books. It was discovered among her things already in Ekaterinburg after the family’s death, when the area fell to anti-Bolshevik forces, who immediately launched a probe to find out what happened at Ipatiev House.

WE FINISHED THE TRANS-MONGOLIAN!! / & Finding More Russian Treasures
We Finished The Trans-Mongolian! We landed in Shanghai 41 days ago and have travelled all the way to Moscow via train. This is the last leg of our Trans-Mongolian journey taking us to our final Russian destination - #StPetersburg.
St Petersburg is as beautiful as everyone says it is. Honestly, the first few days we were there we just walked around the streets taking it all in. Some friends we made at our hostel told us about Udelnaya Flea Market, its one of the largest flea market in the world! After finding the one in Moscow so interesting, we decided to check this one out too.

We left our jobs, sold all of our belongings, and left Australia on a one-way ticket to Shanghai with just each other and our backpacks! We plan to travel the world for a year, see as much as possible, meet as many people as we can, and most importantly MAKE OUR MONEY LAST!

Russia: Monument to Stalin erected in Siberia
A new statue of former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin was unveiled in Yakutsk,
capital of the autonomous Republic of Sakha-Yakutia in Russia's Far East,
on Wednesday.
The 2.5 metre high bust was erected near the offices of Almazy Anabara - a
subsidiary of Russian diamond giant AK Alrosa, one of the world's largest
rough diamond producers.
It is the latest of three monuments to Stalin built in the mineral rich
Republic, whose autonomous status that was granted by Stalin lead to the
development of a Yakuttian written language.
Following from Stalin's programme of industrialisation in the 1930s,
industrial mining became the backbone of the remote republic's riches,
which include large reserves of diamonds, gold, oil, gas, and coal.
Last year, Alrosa signed a $60 million deal with luxury US jeweller Tiffany
& Co.
The unveiling of the Stalin bust went ahead without objection from city
officials and was attended by Almazy Anabara's general manager Matvey
Evseev, Communist Party members, and WWII veterans ahead of Victory Day in
Russia, whereby the defeat of Nazi Germany by the Soviet Red Army will be
celebrated on Thursday.

Russia - Transsiberian Dream
And here is the last step of Kodamasia17: crossing all Russia, from East to West, from time zone to time zone, from culture to culture, in the legendary Transsiberian. This was a childhood dream for both of us and what we can say is that we were not disappointed AT ALL. Being in this train is something completely unique. You feel like travelling between time and space, in a parallel dimension. Waking up, reading, taking a nap, looking by the window, taking a second nap, eating, playing cards, watching a movie, sleeping, eating, taking a break outside… again and again. People tend to think that staying in the train for more than 30 hours is hard, but to me, it was the best part of our trip. You constantly meet people, think, learn about yourself, and learn about this great country that is Russia. So here is what we did during these 19 days.
After having visited Irkutsk and the Baikal Lake, we took the train for 41 hours to visit Omsk, a Siberian city, near the Kazakh border. This city is a typical Siberian city: people swimming in the river during summer, animations in the street during sunny days, and a big cathedral at the middle of it (The Assumption Cathedral).
Then, we took the train for 36 hours and went to Kazan: back in Europe after 7 months. Kazan is a city located in the autonomous Republic of Tatarstan, and the culture there is special. It’s a Muslim Republic, and we really felt that it was different from other places we visited: food, language, architecture. The Qolşärif Mosque is the most impressive one I’ve ever seen. We also visited the Soviet Times Life museum, it’s the only one in Russia. Authentic objects from Soviet Union were there and we could use them, try clothes… I recommend it for every person who would travel to Kazan and is interested about history. World Cup will take place there, good occasion to go! We’ve been lucky to be there during Tatarstan National Day, everyone was celebrating it and we assisted to a sick firework on the river.
Finally, the last step of our journey: going to Moscow. 13 hours of night train from Kazan. The best city I visited in the last 7 months. We had the best guides there to show us how you can enjoy Moscow’s life in the summer. The Kremlin, The Red Square, magnificent parks, markets, street art district, theatres, historic buildings and monuments… this city is just awesome. And CRAZY big. 25 times Paris. Moscow is amazing during the summer, you can feel that people are enjoying the warm days before winter comes. Directly knew I would come back one day, this city is just damn too cool. And we are so thankful to our guides team without who it wouldn’t have been so good.
Almost time to fly “home” as I decided on the last minute to go to St Petersburg. And what a wise choice. 4 hours of high speed train from Moscow to go there. It’s from far the most beautiful city I’ve ever visited. Like Venice, Amsterdam or Bruges, this city is constructed on the water. There are more monuments there than normal buildings. 3 days was totally enough to see the greatness of this city.
And it finally came. Time to go home, and to be honest, not happy about it. Kodamasia17 has been a crazy adventure and it couldn’t have been any better. Realized many of my dreams there and I’m so thankful to all the people who made it so perfect: THANK YOU.
To sum up, it started perfectly with Taiwan, the most welcoming country I visited. Mongolia was the craziest and most beautiful experience ever, and Russia was a perfect conclusion, in such and interesting country.
And I am also thankful to L’Esc@le, Sèvres, who allowed me this scholarship which helped me making all of this possible.
When travelling you learn a lot about people, the world, and yourself. And you also realize that you never really know what future is made of. Life is sometimes unexpected, and I’m in an appropriate position to say that as… I’m moving to Moscow for 6 months in 2018 !
And as Kodama’s will be there once again to help me find my way, I can say that Kodamasia18 is to be continued …
