City of Rocks National Reserve
The City of Rocks National Reserve, also known as the Silent City of Rocks, is a United States National Reserve and state park lying 2 miles north of the south central Idaho border with Utah. It is widely known for its excellent rock climbing and rock formations.
Monument Rocks by Drone
Formed over 80 million years ago in what is now Gove County, Kansas, Monument Rocks or Chalk Pyramids are a natural wonder in the middle of nowhere! Situated on private land but accessible to the public, you absolutely must stop if you are traveling west on I-70. It is approximate 30 miles south of I-70.
Sorry for the shaky footage at times. The wind gusts were 30-35MPH and you can tell as I approach the rock formations they created quite a bit of turbulance.
City of Rocks NM National Reserve | Idaho | USA
City of Rocks NM is a beautiful place in Idaho. Not many people there.
Enjoy.
Located less than one hour south of Burley, City of Rocks National Reserve is one of Southern Idaho's best backcountry adventures. The 14,407-acre Reserve is situated at the south end of the Albion Mountains, and features towering granite pinnacles, fins, and domes.
Emigrants of the California Trail (1843-1882) describe the rocks here in vivid detail as a city of tall spires, steeple rocks, and the silent city. Today, this backcountry byway attracts rock climbers, campers, hikers, hunters, and those with the spirit of adventure. There's inspirational scenery, exceptional opportunities for geologic study, and remnants of the Old West awaiting your discovery.
Nearby Castle Rocks State Park exhibits similar scenic beauty, climbing, miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, and shaded picnicking beside Almo Creek. Castle Rocks offers 38 serviced campsites, yurts, lodge, and bunkhouse for overnight guests.
The visitor center for both the Reserve and State Park is located in the historic village of Almo. The center is open seven days a week from mid-April to mid-October, andTuesday through Saturday during the winter months.
The village of Almo was established in 1878, and remains an unincorporated community of deeply-rooted families of cattle ranching heritage. Basic services are available, such as fuel, groceries and camping supplies, restaurants, lodging, post office, and hot spring. nps.gov

Beef Basin Wash Ruin, Bears Ear National Monument, Utah
I always keep my eyes pealed when out and about in the Moab area as on never knows what they will find. Found this well preserved ruin in Beef Basin Wash near the end of the trail. There was no trail leading to the ruin and it was not really visible from any trail. I knew something was near the end of the trail but I didn’t really have an exact location, so I was just exploring the area.
