Star Media and Babich Design continue the account of the Napoleonic Wars with the Russian army’s long journey from the burning down of Moscow to their victory in Paris including the Battle of Dresden and the Battle of Kulm; the French defeat near Leipzig; the Russian army’s military operations in France and the assault on the French capital by the Russian bayonets which finally liberated Europe from Napoleon’s dictatorship.
Theatrical feature film-style cinematography was used in the reconstruction of this epic military campaign from the battle episodes, the dialogue between characters and battle plans to the biographies of the military leaders. Battle sites, fortresses, cities and the everyday life of the soldiers during the campaign were created in stunning CGI animation. Military uniforms from all the fighting nations, the cold steel and firearms of the infantry and cavalry, artillery and other military equipment of the time have been specially recreated for the production of this magnificent and epic series.

Palmyra: Russian Soldiers of Special Operations Forces Left Terrorists without a Chance

March 2, President Putin received from the Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu a report on the completion of the operation to regain Syrian Palmyra. In December, this city, which a the pearl of ancient architecture, came under the control of ISIS terrorists, because at the time Syrian army's main forces were sent to Aleppo. At that moment, it was there where the fate of the whole battle with terrorists in the country was being determined. Now, with the barbarians pushed out of Aleppo, Syria's liberation started gaining speed. It has become possible to return Palmyra and settle there. The operation took half a month, and was planned under command of Russian officers. As a result, more than a thousand of terrorists were killed, 19 tanks, 37 armored cars, and hundreds of pickup trucks with heavy weapons were destroyed near Palmyra. A decisive contribution during the storming of Palmyra and defeat of ISIS terrorist groups was made by the Russian aviation - attack aircraft and latest Kamov Ka-52 helicopters. This success was predetermined by the Russian Special Operations Forces. We will talk about these very special units later today.

Одни восходили на престол по праву рождения, другие – по приглашению, третьи – по трупам родных братьев, но законной их власть над огромной страной делала сама принадлежность к правящему дому Рюриковичей.
В истории династии было все – яростная борьба за власть и высокое самопожертвование, завоевания и потери, интриги и новые законы, пепел пожарищ и создание мировых шедевров, любовь и предательство. Рюриковичи укрепляли, обороняли, расширяли своё государство: кто-то – огнем и мечом, кто-то – миром и договором. Во время их правления сформировалась русской нация и возник феномен русской культуры. Именно Рюриковичи создали ту самую страну - трансконтинентальную полиэтничную державу, - в которой мы сегодня живём.

Над жителями Ленинграда нависла угроза голодной смерти. Корабли Балтийского флота, артиллерия и сухопутные части Красной Армии защищали город и дорогу жизни, проложенную по льду Ладожского озера. Многократные попытки советского командования прорвать кольцо окружения успеха не приносили. Ленинградцы голодали, умирали, но ленинградские заводы работали. Лишь в феврале 1943 года предпринятая Ставкой операция Искра принесла облегчение Ленинграду - блокада была прорвана.

A translation of the documentary Время ДДТ (Time of DDT), which traces the history of Russia's premier rock band, DDT, in the first two decades of its existence. This second part (of four) sees the leader Yuri Shevchuk move to the city of Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and put together a new lineup of DDT in the late 80s. At first the band struggles to obtain credibility on the Petersburg rock scene, but within a couple of years - as the Perestroika and Glasnost reforms finally open up the country - they are selling out stadiums. However, this sudden party amidst the fall of the Soviet regime does not last long...
A highly recommended viewing to anyone not just interested in DDT, but Russian rock music, culture and recent history generally - it provides a very personal, candid perspective on the lives and struggles of some very difficult times in the lives of free-thinking people in the country.

She never refused to help anyone, either in her life or after her death. This is the story of incredible miracles that have a place in the lives of all believers.
In the last episode 12 we see the last earthly days of Saint Matrona of Moscow. She foresaw her death three days in advance. She precisely indicated the day and hour and began to prepare. She was comforted other people, that there was no need to cry, that she would still stay with them and help... Until the last breath she received visitors and tried to help everyone. She died in Skhodna on May 2, 1952.
The most amazing thing is that this is not the end of her story, it is a new beginning! Hundreds of women stand in line every day to venerate her relics, knowing that she does not refuse anyone who turns to her with faith and love... and her earthly death is not an obstruction!

'Nestor Makhno Paysan d'Ukraine' - Documentaire d'Hélène Châtelain (1996)
Anarchiste et communiste, une conjonction de deux termes impensable en Union soviétique. Pourtant, c'est bien ce que Nestor Makhno revendiqua en Ukraine au début du siècle. Sur un rythme haletant, Hélène Chatelain reconstitue sa vie à partir de ses écrits, de films de propagande soviétique, de réactions d'ouvriers aujourd'hui et de la mémoire qu'il a laissée dans le coeur des siens à Gouliaïpolié. Entre la Révolution de 1917 et 1921, Makhno est l'initiateur en Ukraine des premières communes. Il partage certaines aspirations communistes, néanmoins son pouvoir local et son refus de la violence et des nouvelles directives ne peuvent que faire ombrage aux soviets émergeants. Lénine tente une médiation avec Makhno pour le ramener dans le giron bolchévique, mais celui-ci résiste. La légende construite par la propagande soviétique en fait un anarchiste-bandit-antisémite contre-révolutionnaire ; pour ceux de Gouliaïpolié, il défend au contraire la liberté et les pauvres, et les journaux makhnovistes montre qu'il a aussi défendu les Juifs ... Nestor Makhno, peasant of Ukraine
Anarchist and communist, a conjunction of two terms unthinkable in the Soviet Union. However, it is well what Nestor Makhno claimed in Ukraine at the beginning of the 20th century. On a panting rhythm, Hélène Chatelain reconstitutes his life from his writings, Soviet propaganda films, reactions of workers today and the memory he left in the heart of his people in Guliaipolié. Between the Revolution of 1917 and 1921, Makhno is the initiator in Ukraine of the first communes. He shares some communist aspirations, nevertheless his local power and his refusal of violence and new directives can only make shade to the emerging soviets. Lenin tries a mediation with Makhno to bring him back in the Bolshevik bosom, but he resists. The legend built by the Soviet propaganda makes him a counter-revolutionary anarchist-bandit-antisemite; for those of Gulaipolya, he on the contrary defends freedom and the poor, and the Makhnovist newspapers show that he also defended the Jews... Proletarians of the whole world, go to the depths of your soul and only there will you find the truth.
