(V) RUSSIA: STATUE UNVEILED
Russian/Nat
VOICED BY: RICHARD VAUGHAN
Russian nationalists, monarchists and fascist right wing supporters gathered at the unveiling of a monument to the country's last Tsar, Nicholas II, near Moscow on Saturday.
An orthodox priest led the diverse grouping of worshippers in a ceremony before unveiling the seven metre high statue.
The new monument will be guarded around the clock after similar stautes of the Tsar were recently blown up by left wing activists.
00:01
In a peaceful setting outside a church near Moscow, the latest statue of the imperal Tsar Nicholas the II ia about to be unveiled.
00:10
On Saturday, those faithful to the Tsar's memory, gathered for a Russian orthodox ceremony to mark the occasion.
00:17
Despite its communist past, there are many in Russia who remain devoted to the Imperial family. The family was murdered by Bolshevik revolutionaries in July 1918.
00:27
But nostalgia for the days of the Tsar is not popular with left wing activists, who have been blamed in recent times for blowing up two statues.
00:36
The new statue will be guarded by cossacks and members of the neo-fascist Russian National Unity movement.
Cast in bronze, it stands seven metres high.
00:44
Supporters are determined this should be a lasting monument to Tsar Nicholas, whose image was banned from display under communist rule.
00:53
UPSOUND (Russian)
The Tsar is power itself - he says, Order, Orthodox belief. For any Russian person the Tsar is a symbol of freedom and power.
01:03
Monarchist groups hope the statue will attract many visitors to the Church of Nicholas the Martyr and help their campaign to make Nicholas a saint.

Irkutsk and Lake Baikal in winter - 1967
Иркутск и Байкал холодной зимой 1967 года
Irkutsk and Lake Baikal in the cold winter of 1967
Here I present another fascinating set of photographs from my series of The Soviet Union in the 1960s.
For me, what is remarkable about these photographs is that little has changed here in the past 50 years
The monument is dedicated to Emperor Alexander III, the father of the Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia. The statue still stands to this day..... The photographs of Lake Baikal are mainly centred around the village of Listvyanka. I spent a weekend here not so long ago and walked down the street with the traditional wooden houses.

VLOG - WALKING AROUND ST PETERSBURG | ALEXANDER GARDEN | BRONZE HORSEMAN | SUPER MARKET IN RUSSIA
In the afternoon of our first day in St Petersburg,we visited Alexander Garden (Aleksandrovsky Sad). This small picturesque garden is situated between Admiralty, St. Isaacs Cathedral and the Senate Square with the Bronze Horseman Statue. It exits with one side at the Admiralty Embankment on the Neva River. You'll see many monuments to famous Russian art and science personalities. In front of a Admiralty Building there is a beautiful fountain.Lovely park to wander through, many vendors selling souvenirs and also many Music Artists performing there.
The Bronze Horseman is a monument to Peter the Great, the founder of Saint Petersburg, located on the Senate Square. The monument was made of bronze with his horse rearing above the snake of treason. Its inscription reads ‘To Peter I from Catherine II – 1782’.
We strolled along the bank of Neva River with amazing view of boats, vessels in the water.
Then We went to a super market and bought food and water. Prices are reasonable.Buying food from super market is a better option to save money.

Russian monuments
A monument to a mother – In – law as people jokingly called it. It’s an exact copy of Tyrannosaurus Rex. It was placed in 1989 as the symbol of Tula’s exotarium. Exotarium is the zoo of reptiles and amphibians. . People love this dinosaur and they dress it in different funny clothes. And in this exotarium there is the unique in Russia – serpentarium. It’s the place where biologists try to breed and revive disappearing kinds of snakes . парк йюрк
A monument to Leo Tolstoy – a famous Russian writer. Everybody knows his famous “War and Peace”. This monument is located in Tolstoy’s square. And in front of him there is a liquor factory and that’s why people called this monument “Leo Tolstoy is going to buy vodka”.
This is the monument to a tail. ‘Tails’ students call their “educational arrears”. It means if you failed the exam, you have one more chance to take it and pass it. This monument was placed in 2007. Many students come here every day when they have exams. They bring coopers and rub this lizard to take a little luck on exam.
This is the monument to Tula’s honey cake. Tula’s factory of the production of honey cakes is famous all over Russia. It’s two meters high and weighs more than a ton. Of course you can not taste this honey cake but you can take couple pictures with it and touch the history.
The monument to Demidov.
Demidov was Russian industrialist who founded the Demidov industrial dynasty. Nikita built one of the first metallurgical factories in Tula. Except for this monument which was installed in 1996, a museum is devoted to him in Tula. And people called this monument “Rambo”, I hope you guessed why.
“Levsha and steel flea” is a well-known story by Nickolay Leskov. It tells us about left-handed craftsman, who outperformed his English colleagues by providing a clockwork steel flea they’d made with horseshoes.
This is the monument to Vladimir Lenin – the leader of Soviet people. Every city and town and village in Russia has such kind of monument from the Soviet Union. All Soviet pupils knew: “Lenin lived, Lenin is alive, Lenin will live forever!” Of course now these monuments are just a part of history that’s why people don’t dismantle them.

Дореволюционная Россия на фотографиях - Великий Новгород
Here I present an album of photographs, taken in the late 19th century, of the ancient Russian city of Veliky Novgorod, also known as Novgorod the Great. Novgorod is among the oldest cities in Russia, being founded in the late 10th century. Known for the variety and age of its medieval monuments, at its peak during the 14th century, the city was one of Europe's largest.......although over a hundred years old, these photographs show that Novgorod has changed little over time and provide a fascinating insight into this historical city......

Giant Statue Of Orthodox Prince Vladimir Stirs Controversy
For More Latest News Subscribe us:
MOSCOW: Scaffolding surrounds the vast clay sculpture-in-progress inside a warehouse on Moscow's outskirts, yet already the statue of Vladimir the Great has caused an outcry as big as the monument itself.
The 24-metre (78-feet) high likeness of the man who brought Christianity to Kievan Rus - the forerunner of modern Russia and Ukraine - is set to tower over the capital, the latest potent symbol in a surge of patriotism taking hold in Russia.
Prince Vladimir is revered as a saint by the Russian Orthodox Church and a hero by others, including the noted sculptor of the work, Salavat Shcherbakov. But not all Moscow agrees.
Vladimir is our founding father Shcherbakov told AFP, comparing the 10th-century leader to America's George Washington or Abraham Lincoln.
He's a figure whom the people, the country, can rely on. And he is important right now he said, working on the ornate robes as Vladimir looms above, right hand raised high ready to hold a cross.
World War Zero. Episode 3. Docudrama. English Subtitles. StarMediaEN
The War of 1853-1856 is most often known as The Crimean War. But the battle for the Crimea was only one episode of a much bigger war. The confrontation between the Russian Empire on the one hand and the Allied Forces of the British Empire, France, Turkey and the Kingdom of Sardinia on the other affected a huge territory stretching from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific Ocean. In fact, it was a war for world domination - in effect a world war.
What were the overt and covert reasons that caused the confrontation between the great powers in the middle of the XIX century? How it all started and what role the Russian Empire ultimately played on the world political stage is all told in this challenging and insightful new four-part documentary series, WORLD WAR 0.

Ussuriysk had to go to the train. I wanted to go by car, but depends on the Trans-Siberian Railway. There is a train station on display. World War II veterans train. Russia has handed down throughout much of World War II monument. Next to it there is a tower jongchak 9288 Trans-Siberian train. The distance of 9288km from Moscow to Vladivostok. Russia is a land of wide different time for each area. Moscow and Vladivostok is a time lag of six hours. All the time in the train station is set to Moscow time. Trans-Siberian Railway heard louder than words. Geotindedo only go short distances is a hilarious mood. It can fit in each room along the corridor and the room has four digits.
