t is the last station of first line of the metro. The station is located under the crossing of the streets Furmanov and Rayimbek batyr. The station located not far from the ground surface. It has only one hall with an arch. It has a platform of 10 meters wide and 104 meters long. The station was opened on December 1st 2011 together with the other stations of the first branch of the metro from Rayimbek batyr to Alatau. The station was name after Rayimbek Batyr, who was known as a freedom fighter of the Land of Seven Rivers against Zhungar agressors. For his merits Rayimbek Batyr was appointed by Abilay khan as the army commander. His name runs like a golden thread through the history of Kazakhstan. One of the loneliest avenues of Almaty named after him. There is a monument of Rayimbek on the avenue. The design of the station combines ancient and modern styles. There are national ornaments and petoglyphs painted on the walls. The “Merey” shopping mall, Train station “Almaty-2” and Green bazaar are located near the metro station.
