The Belarusian Written Language Day is traditionally held in towns considered Belarus' cultural, scientific, and book-publishing centers. Glubokoye District boasts remarkable cultural, historical and spiritual heritage with 61 historical and architectural monuments, an ancient settlement site, burial mounds, and 17 churches. Taking part in the Belarusian Written Language Day were over 100 writers and poets from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Serbia, Montenegro and Turkmenistan. Eight busts of famous natives of Glubokoye District were unveiled in Glubokoye. Among them are the names known around the world: aircraft designer Pavel Sukhoi, folklorist and artist Yazep Drozdovich, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda who is known for revival of spoken Hebrew, the founder of the Belarusian theater Ignatius Bujnitski.
