TAIWAN: Temples and Mountains
Taiwan is a small island. It is about 500 kilometers from north to south and 100 — from west to east.
Practically all western coast represents a huge urbanized zone. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish, where one city comes to an end and another begins. But should we move from the coast, slightly towards the central regions, rural areas with rice fields and palm groves instantly begin to appear. And a little more further to the east — the rivers, lakes and mountain ridges.
Our travel begins in Taipei. Exactly here, in the capital of Taiwan, there is an international airport — the air gates of the country.
There are no more than one or two historical sights here. But the existing ones are treated with big respect. Temples have remained best of all. Both Buddhist and Confucian. All, small and even absolutely tiny, family temples as well as the cult complexes with pagodas, pavilions and courtyards, occupying huge territories.
The grandiose memorial Chiang Kai-shek in the center of Taipei, near the Presidential palace, the National Theater and the Concert hall reminds of the Lincoln's memorial in Washington.
The first stop is the city of Zhanghua.
In the park, on the mountain of Eight Trigramms or in Chinese Baguashans, they have built a grandiose temple complex.
Lukang was a seaport since ancient times. Therefore, it is not surprising that the main temple is dedicated not to Confucius or even to Buddha, but to the Chinese goddess of the sea — Matzu. However, she is not the only one here. The temple is filled with images of numerous Chinese gods and spirits. Literally, everyone will find his/her god patron here.
The Sun Moon Lake is one of the largest tourist centers of Taiwan.
The National Nature park of Alishan, occupies the territory of about 400 square kilometers, near the Yushan Mountain — the highest mountain top of the island.
Tainan — the fourth largest city of Taiwan, and one of the oldest in the country. In the second half of the 18th century, it was the capital of the Dongning State.
The City of Kaohsiung, with a population of about three million people — is the largest port and industrial commercial center of the southern part of Taiwan. It is rightly regarded as the southern capital of the country.
On the territory of the Chengqing Lake, there are several islands connected with the coast by bridges.
The travel around the Island of Taiwan is coming to an end in Kaohsiung. And the project World without Visas continues. Ahead are the new travels across the countries, visa-free for Russians.

Lake Leelanau Mermaid Sighting 2019 || Underwater Video Footage of a Real Michigan Mermaid Swimming
There was a real professional mermaid in Lake Leelanau!! Whaaaat!?! This silver mermaid is usually found swimming in Lake Michigan, but Lake Michigan is very cold at the moment, so it appears as though she swam off to find warmer waters. As you can see by the underwater video footage that was taken, Lake Leelanau isn't quite as clean or as clear as Lake Michigan, which resulted in a lot of algae, dead stuff and loose sand clouding up the videos. You may have also noticed that the mermaid in this video did not appear to be afraid of humans. This is because this mermaid, known as Mermaid Phantom, is mostly blind (and is also a seasoned performer). She cannot tell the difference between humans, fish, boats and other mermaids (and could care less). Additionally, she has been kept in captivity before and is very used to socializing with other creatures (despite preferring to be left alone).
Mermaid Phantom (me) goes by many names. She is known as Phantom, The Magic Crafter, The Queen of Darkness, and The Ghost of the Great Lakes. She is one of the few professional mermaids to occupy the state of Michigan and is also one of the few merfolk to have a Gothic appearance... hence the name Queen of Darkness. Although she has been seen all over Michigan, Leelanau County and Traverse City are the two areas where she is found most frequently. That being said, she is a very active mermaid performer and has traveled as far as Singapore, which is halfway around the world! She is always on the move and can't wait for her next big adventure.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Mermaid Phantom can be fished out of the lake to attend birthday parties, festivals, conventions, private events and more!
If you would like to meet her, you can send out an email to Phantom@TheMagicCrafter.com to inquire about booking her for your next event.
MUST BE 18 YEARS OR OLDER. SERIOUS BUSINESS INQUIRIES ONLY.

Hey Magic Crafters!!
How did you enjoy this video? Dad and I FINALLY got to go swimming in a lake for the first time this summer. Due to the crazy cold spring/summer that we have had, the water has taken a REALLY long time to warm up this year. Lake Michigan is still much too cold to safely swim in... unfortunately! :C
However, luckily we have tons of smaller lakes that we can swim in until the big lake warms up, and until we get our boat fixed so that we can travel into the deep end of the lake. But once Lake Michigan DOES warm up, expect there to be PLENTY more underwater videos exploring the vast and beautiful landscape beneath the surface.
I have some pretty big things planned this summer, so fingers crossed that the lake warms up enough to put those plans into action! ♥
I hope you've had a great start to your summer. Thanks for spending some time here on my channel to dive into Lake Leelanau with me!
HAPPY SWIMMING!!!!

Taiwan's 'Rainbow Village' is an Instagram hot spot
Colourful murals that brighten “Rainbow Village” in the city of Taichung in central Taiwan have helped a former veterans’ settlement evolve into an attraction for locals and tourists alike. The murals were painted by Huang Yung-fu, who was born in Taishan county of China’s southern Guangdong province in 1924.
Also known as the “Rainbow Grandpa”, Huang is a former Kuomintang soldier who fought in the Second Sino-Japanese war and China’s civil war. He was among some 2 million Chinese who fled to Taiwan after Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalist army lost the civil war in 1949. Soldiers were given temporary dwellings in hundreds of dedicated military villages across the island.
After Taiwan’s government made plans to redevelop settlements in the 1990s, Huang started to paint murals which ultimately saved some of the houses in Rainbow Village from demolition.

NoNameBear is safe at last, but she needs a name
Animals Asia’s rescue team arrived at their Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre at 7:30pm, Tuesday 23 October having rescued a female moon bear from a bile farm in Vietnam’s Cao Bang province.
The rescue is Animals Asia’s 200th in Vietnam, with the charity having saved a further 418 bears in China.
The bear, who does not yet have a name, was originally thought to have been around three years old when registered in 2005. However, her owner claims she bought the bear 17 years ago when she was just a cub of 34 kilogrammes.
As a result of the rescue, the bile farm has been shut down and the owners will never again be able to keep bears.
No-Name is in bad shape. She’s suffered in silence for many years. She will need extensive care and rehabilitation in the coming weeks and months.
Please, if you can, donate and suggest ‘No-Name Bear’s’ first ever name now:

#24 GUILIN: CLIMBING YAO MOUNTAIN AND THE SUN AND MOON PAGODAS
After the night train and 2 morning buses we arrived in Guilin at Sky Palace Hostel. A few doors down from the hostel was a noodle restaurant. They didn't have an English menu or speak English so we just pointed to the pictures of the food we wanted. It was really cheap and tasty. It was a really simply dish of pork and noodles but very good.
We decided to walk up Yao Mountain which is the highest point in Guilin. You can take the cable car and the toboggan down but we thought we'd have a walk. Its really hard to find the walking trail, they don't sign post it because they want you to pay for the cable car. We spoke to the lady in the shop and she pointed us in the right direction. The views were great! A little hazy but still very beautiful.
We headed to the centre of Guilin for some street food. We had some noodles and beef satay which tasted really good. Breakfast the next morning was a bit of a feast. We had a massive bowl of noodles and pork and a soup with pork dumplings. Very delicious.
We walked down to the bus station as we wanted to see an old Chinese village called Dashu but we were really struggling with where to go and everyone was pointing us in different directions so we gave up in the end and decided to have a walk around the lakes in Guilin.
We had a really good day walking around the lakes in Guilin and seeing the Sun and Moon Pagodas. The Sun Pagoda is the tallest copper pagoda in the world. The scenery was really beautiful with all the lanterns hanging around the lakes. We even went back later that night to see them light up. It was a great way to spend our last night in Guilin.
