Hotel fire on vietnam Moon View Hotel
A fire in Hanoi’s Old Quarter Thursday morning had foreign guests flee in panic, but no one was harmed.
Columns of fire were spotted on the 9th floor of the 3-star Moonview hotel on Hang Than Street, Hoan Kiem District at about 6 a.m. The hotel’s kitchen is on the same floor.
There were cries for help coming from the hotel’s 8th and 9th floor. People were trying to escape from the balconies to get down, an unnamed eyewitness said.
Three firefighting trucks, dozens of firefighters and local police were dispatched and the fire was put out at about 7 a.m.
Over 50 of the hotel’s guests, most of them foreigners, escaped unharmed.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire and estimate property damage.

My first Full Moon LANTERN FESTIVAL | Hoi An VIETNAM - Flying the Nest Expedition
Hoi An is a city that is located in the center of Vietnam near the coast between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. So what makes Hoi An a must see city in Vietnam? The lanterns. Yep, that's right. Hoi An is known as the City of Lanterns. This small town's alley ways are lined with colorful lanterns and every month during the full moon there is a Lantern Festival and we were lucky enough to be in Hoi An to participate in all the fun. From floating down the river, walking along the lantern lit streets to releasing lanterns lit with candles down the Thu Bon river. This little town in Vietnam quickly became one of my favorite cities in the world and if you are planning on traveling throughout Vietnam, make sure you put Hoi An on the itinerary during a full moon. You will not be disappointed! I hope you enjoy the sights I captured during my time in Hoi An!
