Before everyone loses their minds in the comment section - yes, we are aware that Moonlight Beach is currently under a swimming advisory due to a possible blue-green algal bloom on Ramsey Lake.

However, the Sudbury & District Health Unit assured Sudbury.com that, as of Wednesday, the bloom was floating quite a distance from the swimming area.

As a precaution, the Health Unit posted signs advising the public to avoid swimming, drinking the water, and allowing pets into the water if the algal bloom is present at the beach. If no blooms are visible, it is safe to swim.

This video was shot on October 6, 2018 at Moonlight Beach on Lake Ramsey in Sudbury Ontario Canada. The weather was cold and wet with a light drizzle most of the day. The video was shot using a DJI Mavic Pro drone. The ceiling was low at only a couple of hundred feet before you flew into misty clouds.

Sudbury News - Athletes compete for the Beaton Classic

Sudbury - Athletes started the Beaton Classic at Moonlight Beach as they jumped into Ramsey Lake for the one km swim at the event Aug. 14. The event this year included a 24 km bike ride, a four km canoe challenge and an eight km run as well as the swimming portion.

2017 Sudbury Community Airbandz: Make It Happen

Over 12 years ago, Laurentian University resident students started a yearly Airbandz event as a fun way to challenge themselves and raise money for the Northern Cancer Foundation.

In 2016, Gougeon Insurance Brokers brought Airbandz to the community with a goal of raising $100,000 over three years. With the help of many generous community sponsors and brave participants, Sudbury Community Airbandz raised over $35,000 in 2016 alone.

We are calling on you to be a rockstar and join us on Saturday, February 4th, 2017 to help us achieve our fundraising goal and move the ball forward in the fight against cancer.
