Our Loch Ness Holiday At Foyers Bay Lodges – Best Self Catering Loch Ness
If you would like a Loch Ness lodge with stunning scenery then checkout Foyers Bay Lodges They have a number of lodges on Loch Ness.
Myself and Sue spent a wonderful week on Loch Ness self catering. Our Loch Ness holiday was booked at the Foyers Bay Lodges Loch Ness. Sue had found Foyers Bay Loch Ness lodges by accident when she was visiting the Loch Ness area last year with her son and they visited the Falls of Foyer. She was staying in other Loch Ness accommodation last year but realised that I would love Foyers Bay Loch Ness Holiday lodges, so booked it for both of us.
On arrival the first thing you notice is the wonderful view as the accommodation is so near Loch Ness. We were made to feel welcome straight away and showed around our lodge. The lodge was spotless and warm inside. It had 3 good size bedrooms. The main bedroom had a double bed and an awesome view. The other two bedrooms had 2 single beds in but were not cramped. Ideal for Loch Ness holidays for a large family or a group of friends.
As this was a self catering holiday it was nice to see that the Kitchen was a good size with plenty of storage space, a fridge freezer. Again ideal for a large family or a group of friends who are looking for Loch Ness self catering accommodation.
The bathroom was clean and had a modern shower in which was brilliant after a walk on the hills.
Lastly there was the sitting room this had a table that seated 6 and two 3 seater settees in and it still did not feel cramped. For us however the highlight of the sitting room was the patio doors. You could just chill on the sofa and look through the window and see the mountains in the distance, or watch the birds and squirrels playing in the trees.
We were blessed all week with beautiful sunny days. Waking up on a morning and looking out of the window over to the mountains near Loch Ness was just amazing and inspiring.
The lodges are ideally situated for visiting not only the Falls of Foyer, (5 minutes walk away) but you can also get down to the shores of Loch Ness. Never found the Loch Ness monster.
Within the area of the lodges there is also Morags Crafty Bothy. In there you can not only buy gifts, but Kids or Adults can try their hand at painting your own gifts with the help of Morag. Morag also catered for those visiting the Falls of Foyer and sold hot and drinks with a lovely sheltered area called Nancys Nook where you could sit if it was raining or cold. Nancys Nook was in memory of Morags mam and was filled with wonderful bits and pieces that used to belong to her mother. Very nice and interesting to have a look at.
Another good feature of staying at the Foyers Bay Lodges is that within a 5 minute walk is the Craigdorrach Inn. We had intended to be self catering all week but after our first meal in the Craigdorrach we ended up eating there on an evening. The meals were very reasonably priced and the view was awesome. Apart from the reasonably priced meals and awesome view the staff were very friendly.
All in all this week has been an aweome week. We have met some wonderful people and ate some great food. We will definitely be returning.
If you are looking for a Loch Ness lodge with self catering, awesome views and easy access to other areas then we would definitely recommend booking your next Loch Ness holiday at Foyers Bay Lodges
