Melbourne Vlog #001 - Amazing Road Trip to Great Ocean Road
Travel through Victoria to explore the beauty of Great Ocean Road.
[DAY 1] Melbourne → Geelong → Torquay → Lorne → Apollo Bay
We start our journey from Melbourne CBD to Geelong, & I love Geelong so much that I found this little town is a good place for chilling. After having our lunch at King George Fish & Grill, we continue our journey to Torquay, where Jan Juc Beach & Bell beach are famous for surf (There also have more beach to discover but we only have time for this 2 beaches). Pass through Lorne to stop at Teddy's Lookout to enjoy the stunning view of sunset. You will definitely don’t want to miss this spot as this place also famous for magnific view of Great Ocean Road. Our last stop for day 1 is Apollo Bay. We stay a night in a cozy Airbnb which located in front of ocean, and behind it is a hill. Having our dinner in Apollo Bay Seafood Café.
[DAY 2] Apollo Bay → Great Otway National Park → Great Ocean Road → Port Fairy
On the second day, we are exploring Great Ocean Road. Before that, we have our breakfast at Apollo Bay Bakery & have a short walk at the beach nearby. Start our day 2 journey to Great Ocean Road!! Pass through Great Otway National Park & are so amaze with the natural beauty of Great Otway National Park. Wild koala bear are hanging around at the national park, so don't forget to look up the tree to spot for adorable koala bear. We have not much time to explore Great Otway National Park but if you have more time, please go for it! Great Otway National Park is one of my favourite road. So much enjoy the natural beauty of the forest & most important is the koala bear spotting. We only have chance to go for Cape Otway Lightstation, which cost AUD20 per adult. It kinda expensive but the view is totally amazing. The main point for this journey is Port Campbell National Park, the famous attraction for wave-sculpted rock formations - Gibson Step, Twelves Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, & London Bridge. Impress with the big waves that hits on rock. And sometimes the waves is coming too fast that it may wet our shoes (when you go down to the beach). We miss the chance to discover more rocks such as Tom & Eva, Bay of Islands Coastal Park, & a lot more. Our last stop for day 2 is Port Fairy. Having our dinner in Coffin Sally.
[DAY 3] Port Fairy → Grampian
On the third day, we are heading to Halls Gap, the Grampian. Before that, we have our breakfast at Bank St & Co, and have a morning walk in Griffiths Island. So lucky enough to spot a wild wallaby. Driving all the way up to Halls Gap, and it takes more than 2 hours. Saw 3 dead kangaroo body on the road side. Visit Mackenzie Falls, The Balconies, and Boraka Lookout. The walk is easy & it won’t waste any energy. Kangaroos are coming out during evening & morning. Stay a night in Gariwerd Motel.
[DAY 4] Grampian → Ballarat → Melbourne
On the fourth day, we are exploring Ballarat. Before that, we have our breakfast at Livefast. The food looks normal but the taste is amazing. Kangaroos start hanging around the town to have their meal. Pass through Ararat to take away coffee at Fred & Bet's Café. Continue our journey to Ballarat. Another small town to explore. Walk along Lydiard Street & visit Sovereign Hill. Entry fees for Sovereign Hill is AUD55.50 per adult. It is expensive & this open air museum is not what we expected. Heading back to Melbourne CBD.

Melbourne: Great Ocean Road Tour
Embark on an action-packed sunset tour of the Great Ocean Road, one of the most scenic roads in the world, and witness the sun sinking below the southern horizon behind the famous 12 Apostles.
The Great Ocean Road (Vlog #64)
Finally, I am able to cross another point from my bucket list: the Great Ocean Road.
I booked this tour on GroupOn and I paid only 50$ which is a GREAT deal seen that to go and come back it is around 600km.
The bus was comfortable, the driver/guide and the guide were both very prepared and nice as well as all the organization. All the stops were long enough and we left and came back on time.
If you come to Melbourne for a short period, like in my case, 5 days, I suggest to do a tour like this one because you don't have to hire a car (which will cost you a WAY MORE than 50$ considering also the gas) and you don't have to drive, so you can just watch outside the window all the time and enjoy and, if you are tired (like me this morning) you can just sleep :p
My bus stopped in
- Anglesea Beach
- Great Ocean Road Arch (Memorial Arch)
- Apollo Bay
- 12 Apostles
- The Razorback - Tom and Eva Lookout - Loch and George
- Lake Colac (Last stop)
The name of the company that organised the tour is:

Great Ocean Road Drive
Visit for images from this trip.
On the Queen's Birthday weekend of 2013, I took a drive down this iconic Australian highway and world-renowned coastal drive. Great Ocean Road runs from Torquay to Warnambool, and culminates in a crescendo of dramatic limestone rock formations off the Victorian Coast at Port Campbell. The most well-known among these are the Twelve Apostles (though they're somewhat fewer in number now, given that they have been falling into the sea). The rugged coastline is constantly changing, and what is seen today is quite different from as recent as four years previously, which in turn has changed from a previous four years since. The erosion of the coastline is not apparent, but if you pay close attention to the coastline near the Apostles, you will notice how it is gradually been carved away by both wind and water.
This video was put together from a combination of time-lapse sequences shot with a Canon 5D Mark II, and a series of video sequences shot with a pair of GoPro HD Hero 2 cameras mounted on the bonnet of my vehicle.
Great Ocean Road has more than just a rugged coastline to offer. It also offers one access to one of the most historic lighthouses in Australia, and to the Great Otway National Park and a series of waterfalls in a rain-forest.

A Week in Melbourne, Australia (Travel Documentary 2018)
This is my first video project I have completed and it is based on my first time traveling in Melbourne.
This documentary is not made for profit and is made as a personal showcase of my current editing/production skills - I've learned a lot about what needs to be improved in future projects:
- Film more footage so not to rely on others'
- Improve sound recording processes
- Improve graphical
- Better scripting
Other than that though, for a first documentary I'm somewhat happy with myself.

Bellarine Peninsula - Pre Travel Video
Whichever direction you choose to travel around The Bellarine Peninsula you'll soon discover it is a food bowl and cultural centre right on Melbourne's and Geelong's doorstep.
Just over an hour from Melbourne and with the townships generally not more than ten kilometres apart, there is plenty to see on a day tour or stop in one place for the perfect short break.
Activities on The Bellarine include all the water-based sports and pleasures you can think of -- snorkelling, jet-skiing, swimming with dolphins, surfing, kayaking, fishing, marine sanctuaries, sailing and more.
The lush farmlands lend themselves as beautifully to crops as they do to breeding and training horses, grazing sheep and cattle, grape-growing, even alpaca and deer farming.
Bed and breakfast accommodation is plentiful, hotels are often historic buildings and there are always the well-appointed caravan parks and camping available.
World class wineries are peppered throughout the area, as are superb restaurants, quaint cafés, fresh local seafood and Sunday markets.
For families and those looking for some fresh air, there are cycling trails, picnic and barbecue areas, playgrounds, golf courses and tennis courts in each township. There is also a great selection of entertainment for children including mini-golf, mazes, and a steam train. For an adrenaline burst plan a visit to Adventure Park, a state of the art water park featuring giant water slides and activities.

Bendigo, Victoria, Australia
Bendigo is a large regional city in Victoria, Australia, population 100,000 (making it the 3rd largest settlement in the state). Bendigo is located some 140 km north-north-west of Melbourne. It is beautiful city with grand Victorian architecture, more opulent than that generally seen in country Australia. This is as a result of the Gold Rush.
Bendigo grew to a bustling town during the Gold Rush Era of the 1850s. The wealth created during this period resulted many fine Victorian era buildings in the down town and surrounding areas. This type of architecture is not common to most country towns in Australia.
The town has more sunny days per year than Queensland. Being north of the Great Dividing Range, it has also far less rain than Melbourne. Summers are hot and dry, up to 40 degrees Celsius or more on some days. Winters tend to be mild; with lowest temperatures around minus 5 degrees Celsius overnight and around 15 during the day.
Sheep, cattle, fruit, wine and cereal crops are the most common products of the area. Gold is being discovered again in large quantities at deeper levels in the old mines with new technology.
Before European settlement the are was occupied by the clans of the Dja Dja Wrung people. They were regarded by other tribes as being a superior people, not only because of their rich hunting grounds but because from their area came a greenstone rock for their stone axes. Early Europeans described the Dja Dja Wrung as a strong, physically well-developed people and not belligerent. Nevertheless the early years of European settlement in the Mount Alexander area were bloodied by many clashes between intruder and dispossessed.
Major Mitchell passed through the area in 1836. Following his discovery, the first squatters arrived in 1840 to establish vast sheep runs. Bendigo Creek was part of the Mount Alexander or Ravenswood sheep run.
It is generally acknowledged that Mrs John Kennedy and Mrs Patrick Farrell, wives of workmen on the Ravenswood run, found gold at 'The Rocks' - now an identified location that can be visited at the junction of Bendigo Creek and Maple Street.

VISITING AUSTRALIA FOR THE FIRST TIME
Visiting Australia for the first time!
Have you ever been to this continent? For us it was a big deal as we have never been so far away from our home country. This is our first trip to Australia and here are the first steps!
Australia is a country one of a kind! There are so many things that surprised us here! So many things that are completely different to what we have seen so far. In the next months I will try to show you the Australia I see as a European traveller.
Today we are sharing with you our first impression of Melbourne - one of the most recognizable places in the country. Some people say it’s the best place to live… in the world! Is that true? We gonna find out soon enough!
Melbourne is mostly known for the street art, laneways and world famous coffee! People living in Melbourne can argue with you for hours if you dare say that their coffee is not the best. Aussies are simply obsessed with it! Well.. I need to admit - the coffee is really good! Is it the best? Well… it’s still too early to say.
These are also the best things to do in Melbourne - drinking coffee and admiring street art!
What I don’t like about Australia are the prices! Everything is really expensive here, especially accommodation! If you don’t have, or simply don’t want to spend the money on the accommodation, make sure to come back to this channel as I’m going to share with you my way of not paying for the accommodation and saving lot’s of money in the same time!
Melbourne is definitely a must visit in Australia!
