How Fake Food Became A $90 Million Industry In Japan
Fake food samples, or sampuru, can be seen in most restaurant windows in Japan. The hyper-realistic plastic foods help with language barriers and advertising, but they're also a prominent and historical staple in Japanese culture.

Parfait! Making Japans food samples & DIY kushi katsu | サンプルを作ろう | DIY串カツ
In this video, I headed out with my friends to make a parfait, but not any parfait. The type of parfait that you can see in shop windows in Japan. These are called samples(サンプル) in Japanese.
Afterwards we headed to a All You Can Eat DIY kushi katsu restaurant. Kushi katsu is basically anything deep fried on a stick.

Japanese KAISEKI (Multi-Course Meal) and Pastries!! - Osaka 2
Osaka Street Food Video (previous ep.):
More Food Travel Videos:
Today in Osaka we walked around the Umeda area and found seriously the best pastry I've had in a long time! Then we went up the iconic Hep 5 Ferris Wheel for a spectacular view.
But dinner really was the highlight of the day AND the highlight of my trip! We went for a traditional Japanese kaiseki which is a multi-course meal where the menu is decided by the chef. The dishes are small so you can sample a huge range of flavours and textures in one meal. I was so impressed with the quality and the attention to detail they put into everything!
