Morioka Hachimangu Festival
I was back up in Morioka again for yet another festival, this time for the 300 year old Hachimangu Matsuri.
The Hachimangu Matsuri is a 3-day festival with floats, music, dances, and yabusame (mounted archery).
The floats take 6 months to decorate and 200 people are attached to each one. The floats depicted characters from Japanese and Chinese history/legend and Kabuki characters.

A Look at the Japanese City of Morioka
Morioka in northern Japan is the capital of the Iwate Prefecture. I went there recently for a festival where they burn makeshift boats for Obon - the festival for honoring their ancestors' spirits.
In this video I take a look at the city of Morioka itself and talk a little about its past and some of its sites.

St.Hachiman Morioka Japan 盛岡八幡宮
There is Morioka Hachiman Shrine in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture.
Morioka Hachiman Shrine was erected by the 29th Shigenobu Nanbu in 1680, more than 300 years ago.
St. Hachiman is the street in front of Hachiman Shrine, and it was often used at work last month. As I walked, the cityscape was very beautiful and there was an emotion and atmosphere, so I went to shoot. It is different from the bustle during the day and during festivals.
