Buffalo Bob took us on a great ride into the hay fields to meet his wonderful herd of Bison. We had a lot of fun, learned so many interesting things and had a delicios luch of bison hot dogs at the Yippy Ki'Yeah Cafe

He started his stand-up career in New York City, where he worked as a staff writer at Late Night with Conan O’Brien and was a regular performer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Demetri recently wrote and directed his first feature film, Dean, which won the Founder’s Prize at the Tribeca Film Festival for best narrative American feature film.

3. Rifflandia (September 14th – 17th)
Rifflandia turns 10 this September! Join the party throughout multiple venues in Victoria as the city hosts Musicians such as Moby, July Talk, Bonobo, Zed’s Dead and many more. This interactive festival engages the whole city and focuses on the growing Music Scene that brings musicians, music lovers and local businesses together for a magical weekend.
4. Nanaimo Jazz Fest (September 15th – 17th)
New Orleans is coming to town to celebrate the inaugural Nanaimo International Jazz Festival this September. For 3 days and nights Nanaimo’s downtown will be hopping with the beats and grooves of live jazz. The Festival will put Jazz in Diana Krall Plaza, as well as a ‘Jazz Krall’ in other downtown cafes and public spaces throughout the event.

6. Chemainus Theatre presents Jeeves Takes a Bow (September 8th – 30th)
Bertie Wooster has bitten off more of The Big Apple than he can chew. All attempts to inflict his charming ineptitude on America and break into show biz are foiled by a kooky childhood friend “Binky” and vengeful thug “Knuckles McCann”. Will his illustrious manservant Jeeves save the scene and the day?
7. Ranch Tours at Morning Star Bison Ranch (Fridays – Sundays through September)
Up in the pristine Cassidy Highlands just south of Nanaimo BC lies a home where the buffalo roam on beautifully sculpted fields. Join a tour on the Buffalo Bus conducted by the Ranch’s own Buffalo Bob (Bob Wilson) where you will ride into the fields and interact with the Bison up close.
8. Old Time Fiddle Jamboree (September 16th)
The Coombs Old Time Fiddlers, Branch 11 of the BC Association, host this annual Fiddle Jamboree to showcase Canadian Old Time Music. Fiddlers and accompanying musicians from Vancouver Island and beyond gather on stage to present a full afternoon of great traditional music from the many cultures in Canada.
9. Friday Night Casks at White Sails Brewing (Fridays through September)

10. The University of Victoria presents God is a Scottish Drag Queen: The Second Coming (September 16th)
A cross between Dame Edna and Billy Connolly, with a dollop of Eddie Izzard! God, dressed in a floral power suit, comes down to skewer everything from the 10 Commandments to Trump in a hilarious two act comedy of biblical proportions!
Syncrude Buffalo Ranch - Shaw TVs Big Summer
Doug Roxburgh heads to the Bison (Buffalo) Ranch located on the reclaimed land at Syncrude in Fort McMurray. There are 300 Bison in the herd and it is all part of redeveloping the land.
