| LESSONS FROM MOROCCO | A look at public transport system in Rabat, Morocco
Public transport is a key sector of Kenya’s economy, it is for this reason that the ministry of transport has been pushing to make the public transport system more efficient, especially for residents of Nairobi and other big cities.
But there is a lot to be done to achieve seamless traffic flow and order away from the rowdy matatu culture that characterizes our public transport system.

Morocco Road Trip | Essaouira, Casablanca & Rabat
Our road trip through Morocco has begun as we eave Marrakesh and make our way towards some of the coastal towns of this beautiful country.
First up we had a few more spots to see in Marrakesh with our first ever visit in the incredible Bahia Palace - honestly designing our future house after the Moroccan architects.
Our first stop is the coastal town of Essaouira, where we got to see the medina and a quick stop into the blue boat fishing village.
In the morning we made our way to Casablanca to see one of the most jaw dropping Mosques in the world - the Hassan II Mosque.
Final stop is the capital city of Rabat and it's unlike any town we have ever seen in Morocco so far.
Tour we are on in Morocco:

WELCOME TO RABAT MOROCCO - TRAVEL VLOG
Rabat is the capital city of Morocco in North Africa and the political and administrative center of the country. In this vlog, we visit the traditional Moroccan guards, walk the Kasbah, and photograph the ruins of Chellah.
While it is less touristy than Marrakesh, it is filled with impressive historic sights. It is one of four Imperial cities of Morocco, and the medina of Rabat is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Chellah - This is an ancient Necropolis with scenic gardens, Roman Ruins, Islamic Architecture and 13th C Mosque. We also listen to the traditional Moroccan music.
Mausoleum of Mohammed V
A richly ornate mausoleum where we photograph the Moroccan Architecture and guards.
Kasbah of the Udayas
Also known as Kasbah les Oudaias, this is the most picturesque part of Rabat. The Kasbah has beautiful alleyways with whitewashed and blue walls. Scenic views of the Bouregreg River and the Andalusian Gardens.

One Week in Morocco: Part 2 - Rabat
Part 2 follows our adventures from Fes via train to Rabat and then exploring the capital city. We take in the Rabat Medina, discuss the joys of staying in a Moroccan Riad, soak up the atmosphere in the Kasbah of the Udayas, enjoy the views of the Atlantic Ocean, sample a lot of Moroccan food as well as try our hand at bartering for souvenirs.
This series is a documentary-type look at a one week long journey around Morocco. Evan Brown along with good friend Iain Griffin set out to discover a bit of Maroc for themselves on this adventure. Both first timers to Morocco's charms, it is our goal to try and enjoy a little bit of a taste of local life here. Our journeying was done by train and a lot of walking as well as sweating was involved. We started out in Fes and then on to Rabbat, Cassablanca then Marrakesh to finally take the train back to Fes in time for our flight home 1 week later. These videos are documenting and sharing our genuine experiences and adventures as we attempt to find out for ourselves what Morocco is really like.

CHELLAH Rabat Morocco Official Tour video HD
The Chellah شالة, is a medieval fortified Muslim necropolis located in the metro area of Rabat, Morocco, on the south (left) side of the Bou Regreg estuary. The Phoenicians established a trading emporium at the site and called it Sala. This was later the site of the ancient Roman colony of Sala Colonia, in the Roman province of Mauretania Tingitana.
Salā was the name given to the city founded by the Muslim conquerors of North Africa, which was mostly abandoned during the Almohad era, then rebuilt by the Marinids in the 13th century. The ruins of their medieval fortress are still extant. The Berber Almohads used the site as a royal burial ground. The Marinids made the site a holy necropolis, or chellah, and built a complex that included mosque, minaret, and royal tombs. The tall minaret of the now-ruined mosque was built of stone and zellige tilework, and still stands.

Hôtel La Tour Hassan Palace Rabat Morocco
Rabat, Modern Capital and Historic City
Located on the Atlantic seaboard in northwestern Morocco, Rabat is the result of a fruitful dialogue between the Arab-Muslim past and Western modernism. The site includes the new city, designed and built under the French Protectorate from 1912 to the 1930s, including the royal residence, colonial administrations, residential and commercial complexes. We also find old parts of the city that date back to the 12th century. The new city represents one of the largest and most ambitious urban projects of the 10th century in Africa, probably the most complete.
A Palace In The Heart Of The Capital
La Tour Hassan Palace, the flagship of the Moroccan hotel industry, remains an inescapable showcase of the art of living and Moroccan hospitality.
Built in 1912, La Tour Hassan Palace in Rabat is a tribute to the splendour of Moorish architecture, which combines ornament of elegance and atmosphere filled with a unique majesty.
LaTour Hassan Palace offers the advantages of a contemporary hotel of leisure and upscale business and the expertise of highly qualified professionals.
This Luxury Palace Hotel is the ideal address for organizing any event in Rabat.

The famous restaurant of Moroccan gastronomy La Maison Arabe by La Tour Hassan Palace
In history, the sense of Moroccan hospitality has always been praised as a benevolence whose cuisine would be the refined expression. Here, the table is honoured as a digest of memory and culinary tradition.
Finely chiselled doors in the wood, oriental rugs, blue tiles and wide mosaic benches and cushions, servers in jabador, you are already there ... you have just entered the Arab House, the Moroccan restaurant par excellence. La Maison Arabe offers The best of what the gastronomy of the country can offer you is concentrated, a cuisine made with love and application, for your greatest delight: the real couscous, and its selected ingredients, the tajine in all its components and its subtleties, the sweetness of a sweet final note. In our first episode we are in MARRAKECH! We are here to eat as much HALAL STREET FOOD as possible! We are spending the day exploring the ancient medina and eating a ton of food along the way. We start the day eating Bessara (Moroccan fava bean soup), and then visit the community bakery. We visit the first pastry shop in Marrakech to try some traditional sweets, and wash it down with freshly squeezed pomegranate juice. The medina features some cool shops that sell pickles and famous Moroccan mint. We have lunch in a busy corner of the market and try cactus fruit for the first time. We take a break from eating and visit the Secret Garden and then watch the sunset over the city. In the evening, we hit the night market for more food: Jemaa el-Fna. We eat the classic Moroccan street foods - like braised escargots!
What a HUGE day of eating traditional dishes and STREET FOOD in Marrakesh! MASSIVE thanks to Mohamed from Moroccan Food Tour for making this happen. 10 Best Places to Visit in Morocco - Travel Video
Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman may have given the world Casablanca, but there is much more to see in Morocco than its largest city. This Atlantic coast country gives travelers the opportunity to experience life in an ancient Arabic culture, sunning on beaches or snow skiing in the mountains. Whether rambling through ancient medinas, sampling cuisine at a local souq or relaxing in the sun at a white-washed seaside town, the past is always present in this diverse and colorful country. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Morocco:
Rabat - Morocco's Capital City
Rabat is the capital city of Morocco and its second largest city with an urban population of approximately 580,000 and a metropolitan population of over 1.2 million. It is also the capital city of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra administrative region.
The Moroccan capital was ranked at second place by CNN in its Top Travel Destinations of 2013. It is one of four Imperial cities of Morocco, and the medina of Rabat is listed as a World Heritage Site.
