East Side Lonely Performed By Prince Alfred College Big Band 1 at Generations In Jazz 2013
Band biography
Prince Alfred College
Big Band 1
BAND DIRECTOR: Andrew Newhouse
DIVISION ENTERED: Division 1 (Placed 3rd)
PAC Big Band was formed in 2004. They first came to the Mount a year later to participate in Division 3.
In 2006 the Band moved up to Division 2. This new momentum generated by the Mt Gambier trip saw an extra big band added almost every year since then. PAC now has 6 big bands competing at Generations, all conducted by Mr Andrew Newhouse.
After 3 attempts at Division 2 the band won in 2008, and the decision made to take the big step up a division. They have been lucky enough to be able to play in Division 1 since 2009.
The boys audition for their position in the band which rehearses for an hour and a half once week as well as weekly sectionals led by the section leaders. The band also plays at numerous school functions and has placed consistently well at the South Australian Band festival.
Mr Newhouse and all the boys on stage hope you enjoy their performance today.
