Mortimer Forest MTB Ludlow
First things a warning for the swearing people... There's so much I'm not even attempting to bleep it out, its not stop banter!!!
We checked out Mortimer Forest in Ludlow, been riding right next door at Bringewood for decades and have never been over Mortimer side... We took a detour over to Bringe for some fun too.

This walk took me an afternoon and a morning and started in Aymestrey in North Herefordshire beside the River Lugg. It eventually took me to the The Mortimer Trail in the vicinity of the Mortimer Forest and Ludlow, which borders Shropshire & Herefordshire.
It was late August 2013 and the weather had treated me well despite the fact that rain was on the horizon. I would not have minded the water but I enjoyed the sunset better on the first evenings camp beside Brush Wood near Richards Castle to the West a mile or so of the village. And what a sunset it was, which I managed to capture well hanging over Radnorshire and Powys.
The next morning I was off beyond Downton Castle to a round table gathering (no not that round table) but one our good friend Nigel Sturgeon, myself and others had created over the years out of Herefordshire Oak. To see video see link below.

Exploring Mortimer Forest in Herefordshire
Julia Hartley and I are up on Mortimer Forest on the Shropshire/Herefordshire border in England, near the town of Ludlow. The forest covers a hilly terrain, including the marilyn of High Vinnalls which rises to 1,230 ft.
Mortimer Forest was an ancient hunting forest. It is a remnant of the ancient Saxon hunting forests of Mocktree, Deerfold and Bringewood, and later owned by powerful Marcher lords, who had considerable fortified bases at Wigmore and Ludlow. The name of the forest derives from the Mortimers, who were Marcher lords.
The mainly conifer covered forest, with some Douglas Furs and deciduous broad leaf trees on the outskirts, sits on very old limestones and shales laid down by the sea some 400 million years ago.
The forest is under threat from development from luxury holiday homes and hot tubs. Find out more here:

The Marches, the borderland country of England and Wales, has proven to have wonderful places to visit, and take long walks in, this is just one of the places.

BILLY'S BACK & BEASTS US AROUND BRINGEWOOD/MORTIMER MTB TRACKS
After the previous disaster where we got lost around Bringwood/Mortimer Forest, our mood mate Billy (AKA Ben) took us back there in the wet for an amazing day's riding. We hit up some of the best tracks Shropshire has to offer, with the usual banter, sketchy moments and lots of GoPro footage.
Also featured are our long term tested Shimano Saint SPD DH pedals. For more info on these go to-
