畑であったその片隅に、国田家のおばあさんがひとつかみの芝桜の苗を植え付けたのが始まりで、現在では約3反の広さに白・ピンク・紫の可憐な芝桜が咲きます。毎年4月中旬から5月中旬にかけて一面芝桜の絨毯になり、甘い香りでいっぱいになります。平成４年に農林水産大臣賞、平成８年には内閣総理大臣賞を受賞しました。

芝桜(Shibazakura) is a moss pink little flower. There are various pink colors of them. Kunitake-no-Shibazakura is a very wonderful place to visit. The best time to see them is from mid-April to mid-May.
Some decades ago, the old lady of 国田家(the Kunitas) planted only a handful shibazakura (moss pink) in the corner of their farm. They have been grown by the Kunitas and their supporters for a long tome. And now the flowers give us such a pleasant time.
