Strikes are always right, they have to be respected, but this strike is hitting us at the plant. There is a lack of materials and there is a great difficulty in moving the cars we produce, so the company had to suspend work at the plant.

STORYLINE
Italian automaker Fiat has temporarily closed a plant near Naples as a result of a month-long strike by a key group of drivers that it warned was getting more tense.
Fiat said on Friday that the Pomigliano plant near Naples that makes the new Panda subcompact would close on Monday and Tuesday, while another plant in southern Italy will be closed for three days next week.
The drivers of multi-tiered vehicles that transport cars are striking over government measures that have raised fuel prices.
The costs we have to sustain do not permit us to travel anymore, we can't keep up with the pace, said heavy transport vehicle owner Pasquale Russo.
A union representative for Fiat workers said he agreed with workers' right to strike, but this action was having a widespread impact on the productivity of the plant.
There is a lack of materials and there is a great difficulty in moving the cars we produce, so the company had to suspend work at the plant, said Antonio Vernillo.
The strike has forced Fiat to cut production and is hurting its market share.
Fiat says the strike is worsening, citing acts of intimidation against non-striking drivers and vehicles set on fire.
