Angel Mounds Evansville,Indiana 2010
my visit to Angel mounds Evansville, indiana 2010...Beginning after 1000 CE, people of the Mississippian culture built a town at this site, covering 100 acres (0.40 km2) and situated on a large, terraced mound near the river. Today, Angel Mounds State Historic Site is nationally recognized as one of the best-preserved prehistoric Native American sites in the United States..the town was surrounded by a stockade, with the Ohio River acting as a barrier on the south side. A gateway was placed to the east, about a fourth of the way around from where the eastern flank of the stockade meets the river. A second barrier, a type of picket fence, was set 14 feet outside the stockade. It was designed to slow the attackers as they came into range.

October 5, 1960 - Senator John F. Kennedy's remarks in Anderson, Indiana
Remarks of Senator John F. Kennedy, Anderson, IN
''Unless this country moves again, this State won't move. I don't care what happens in Indiana by itself - unless the rest of the country is going ahead. Who buys the products of General Motors? Not the citizens of Indiana but the citizens of the United States. Therefore, in this State, which for 24 years has sustained the Republicans, I think you should give us a chance. I think you should give us a chance to lead.''

Opportunities in Anderson Indiana
Welcome to Anderson, Indiana, a city known for its rich history, expansive industry, and home to the Church of God headquarters. In the mid 1970's, Anderson experienced a large economic upturn during the age of automobile with an estimated 27,000 employees working for General Motors. Yet, things took a drastic turn when GM left in 1999, ending its 80-year involvement in the local economy, and leaving thousands jobless and looking for new opportunity. However, Anderson has rebounded and its leaders are working hard to bring in new jobs with large corporations such as Nestle, XADS, and GTI; throughout the city, new smaller business ventures are emerging and sparking a sense of hope in the community. The local Government has rebuilt roads and provided restoration for many historical buildings. Public and private enterprises have given resources and funding to the city's multitude of parks to turn Anderson from a town centers on manufacturing into a beautiful place to live. The old factories have been torn down, leaving space for new businesses to build and grow. Anderson has survived the economic fallout from the Age of Manufacturing, and is read to welcome new people and businesses as a place to live, a place to work, a place to grow, expand and sustain.
