Mount Brandon or Brandon at 952 metres , is the 8th-highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin scale, and the 9th-highest according to the Vandeleur-Lynam scale. Brandon is the highest Irish peak outside of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks range, and has the greatest prominence of any peak except Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain. Brandon is named after Saint Brendan and is the end of a Christian pilgrimage trail known as Cosán na Naomh. Brandon is at the centre of the Brandon Group of mountains in the Dingle Peninsula in Kerry.

We arrived in Dingle peninsula. First thing we found a nice parking nearby the place were Fungie the dolphin hang out, and we actually saw him.

We took the amazing road that lead to Conor Pass. We parked right at the top waiting for the clouds to pass by. The view it's simply amazing from there.

Armando decide to hike another mountain while in Ireland: Mount Brandon, exactly in Saint Brandon day! What a coincidence!

We stop at a local mechanic to change pads!

We then continued our journey along the coast, hitting some film location and other amazing places.

In the second of our Wild Ireland film series, we visit the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, surrounded on three sides by the mighty Atlantic Ocean, with a spine that is rugged and mountainous. The Brandon Massif can lay claim to some of the most picturesque views of seascapes and glacial mountainscapes in Ireland, offering among the very best hillwalking experiences this island has to offer. We undertook a three day trek with two nights wild camping over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in April 2015, in glorious weather conditions. Starting from Mount Brandon Hostel in Cloghane, we did a circular route covering over 40km, taking in 12 summits including Mount Brandon at 952m. With utterly face-slapping scenery in fine weather, this untamed and scenic corner of Western Europe, an integral part of the Wild Atlantic Way, is unsurpassed and unparalleled in its raw beauty.

Quick view of some of the sights around the Dingle Peninsula the most westerly point in Europe. Sights include the Conner Pass, Slea Head including the Blasket Islands, the 'sleeping Giant' island, the foot of Mount Brandon (summit was shrouded in cloud) the highest Montain in Ireland, Brandon Creek and Burnham looking across to Dingle.

Situé dans la Péninsule de Dingle en Irlande, Brandon Point est un lieu d'observation d'oiseaux. On peut également y apercevoir des dauphins et des baleines.

Il est également le point de départ d'un sentier de randonnée de plusieurs kilomètres sur le mont Brandon qui est la seconde plus haute montagne en Irlande avec ses 950 m de hauteur. C'est une randonnée qui s'adresse à des marcheurs expérimentés.

A quelques mètres du départ, nous avons déjà une superbe vue de la baie.

Nous avons fait une courte randonnée dans ce sentier pour avoir un aperçu du paysage environnant. Le vent soufflait terriblement fort.

Nous avons discuté avec un homme qui s'était aventuré dans le haut d'une falaise, au tout début de la randonnée, et il n'arrivait pas à tenir debout étant donné la force du vent.

Nous avons poursuivi notre marche jusqu'à ce que le sentier se transforme en une montée abrupte vers un haut sommet et sommes revenus sur nos pas.

Nous avons cependant aperçu quelques solitaires qui étaient déjà rendus à mi-chemin du sommet. Au sommet, le panorama doit certainement y être époustouflant.

Nous avons le sentiment d'être infiniment petits face à l'immensité de cet univers.

MOUNT BRANDON

Mount Brandon or Brandon Mountain 953 m (3123 ft) mountain on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. It is the highest peak of the unnamed central mountain range of the Dingle Peninsula and the ninth highest peak on the island. It is also the highest Irish peak outside the Macgillycuddy's Reeks.The Faha ridge walk proceeds from an East to West direction toward Mt Brandon. Faha Ridge is on the above and to the North of the regular route up Brandon from Cloghane, known as the Pilgrim's Path.The route starts out as a gentle incline up a grassy slope, but once the slope levels out, the ridge narrows into, in places, a knife-edge arête with stimulating views on either side, down to the Pilgrims path and Locha Chom an Chnoic to the South, and Coimín na gCnámh to the North.I CLIMBED THIS MOUNTAIN 20-TH JULY 2013 AND NEEDED ABOUT 2 HOURS TO REACH THE SUMMIT.

Mount Brandon is a 952 m mountain on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry.
We followed the harder route to climb Mount Brandon starting from the Faha Grotto, not far from the small town of Cloghane. There is an easier alternative route from the Dingle side.

It was windy, but believe me, I said something extremely profound ! Climbed to the summit of Mount Brandon on the well-worn path from Faha and returned to via the Slieveglass Valley
