Beeripmo Walk - Overnight Hike in Country Victoria
For my 30th birthday we went for a hike in country Victoria, Australia. About 2 hours north of Melbourne, just below Ararat is Mt Buangor - we went for a hike just next to the mountain.
Starting at Richards campground, we left our cars there and hiked past Beeripmo campground and set up our tents at Mugwamp, right next to the hikers hut that was occupied by hunters.
Day 2, we had an easy walk following a valley that was downhill the entire time back to Richards, completing the Beeripmo circuit.

*About the campsite(
This is a popular swimming and picnic area not far from Briagolong in Briagolong State Forest
There are large shady campsites, a sheltered picnic area and rubbish bins provided.
The creek near here is fairly shallow but the water is cool and clear and suitable for (supervised) children to swim in. Tends to have water when other areas are dry.
The large gum trees here provide plenty of shade and the sites are well separated allowing for a bit of seclusion.
This is a great spot for family camping as there is plenty of room, lots of grass and good quality amenities (the sheltered picnic areas is a bonus for family meals if the weather turns bad).

Sunset at Mt Buangor State Park, Friday 24 September 2016. Shot from the Middle Creek Campground after a period of heavy rain, on an overcast evening. Easily in view is Cave Hill and the Bukkertillible Cave, as well as Gum Tress effected by the 2010 bushfires and associated new growth.

2 Day Hike - Beeripmo Walk. This is the only footage I grabbed as it rained on day 1 and the start of day 2. I also ended up losing some footage due to SD card issues with the Samsung S5.
No GoPro footage here. Having issues and the GoPro has been returned for replacement. This video is shot with the DJI Osmo Mobile and the Samsung S5. Love the OSMO Mobile. Just got to figure out a better way to carry it on the pack and use it more often.

Were you disappointed you may ask? JUUSSSTTT A LITTLE. Haha, all jokes aside we all had a great time. ONLY thing is there isn't many walks or hikes around, just the Saturday Creek Walk. AND if you don't plan to ride dirt bikes, do not camp at Anderson Gardens Campground, because it is the place to be for dirt bike riding, and not the place to be if you want piece and quiet. There are two other camp grounds at Mt Disappointment: Number One campground and Regular Campground, but as usual get in early so you can secure a spot.
All in all, we ate good food, enjoyed temperamental weather and even better company.
Hope y'all enjoyed watching us forage for twigs, hike and eat.
