3 DAYS in KAMIKOCHI: climbing mt. Chogatake//上高地から蝶ヶ岳
Kamikochi is a valley in Nagano prefecture and the gateway to a lot of the surrounding mountains. We decided to climb mt. Chogatake which is a beginner level mountain with amazing views of the other mountains in the Northern Alps.
今回は上高地から蝶ヶ岳に挑戦しました！蝶ヶ岳からは北アルプス（西穂高、奥穂高岳 など）の景色が素晴らしかったからオススメです！

Kamikochi - Trekking Through the National Park in Japan (4K)
Kamikochi, sometimes also known as the Little Yosemite. This scenic valley is at an altitude of 1,500 m above sea level and surrounded by high mountains of the Northern Japan Alps in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.
The views of mountains and river are absolutely breathtaking that it was appointed as a Special Natural Monument and a Special Place of Scenic Beauty. It is only one of the two places that hold both titles at once together with Kurobe Gorge. Endless photo opportunities await. If you an outdoor person, Kamikochi has some very nice camping sites with access to many peaks: Mt. Hotaka (3,190 m), Mt. Yake (2,455 m), Mt. Yari (3,180 m), Mt. Jonen (2,857) and more. Definitely worth visiting.
►Suggested Itinerary
DAY 1 - Take an overnight bus from Shinjuku all the way to Kamikochi.（
DAY 2 - Arrive at Kamikochi and enjoy a real getaway .
DAY 3 - Wake up early to do a morning yoga, then go on to visit Japan's oldest original castle Matsumoto Castle.
DAY 4 - Return to Tokyo safely with energy filled.

Spent my summer vacation leave with friends in Nagano prefecture (also a paradise for skiing and snowboarding) and had an amazing experience. From a day trip to Kamikochi—hiking as if we’re real backpackers, to unexpectedly sleeping in a mixed room---no regrets though, to ticking Matsumoto Castle off our list, and finally experiencing one of the biggest fireworks festivals in Japan. Special thanks to “that” hotel for letting us get in and enjoy the fireworks view without paying--(up until now we are wondering if they knew we were actually intruders), to Jake for the sponsored Kobayashi Soba lunch and to our cool roomies Emiliano and Daniele. I heard they wanna visit the Philippines too. Anyone who wants to be their tour guide? ????

Travel with us and see the Japanese Alps in our 2-day itinerary in Japan across the Nagano prefecture. The Japanese Alps are such a beautiful backdrop to the picturesque and quaint towns of Japan.
Our itinerary:
- Bike riding around Matsumoto, visiting Matsumoto Castle, slurping soba
- Hiking through Kamikochi National Park, visiting ancient shrines
- Tucked in the forest soaking in a private onsen at Mozumo Ryokan in Hirayu Onsen
Watch as we ride bikes around Matsumoto, slurp away on soba noodles and crunch on crispy tempura, take public transit into beautiful Kamikochi, hike amongst the forest, beautiful mountainous alps, and running streams, eat fresh grilled stream fish, and relax in our private ryokan with a private onsen tucked away in the woods without a person in sight. Follow us as we explore the beautiful nature side of Japan outside of its bustling cities.

4. Tickle your taste buds with flavors from local specialty to fine French cuisine
