I hope this series will somewhat inspire you to explore the areas around where you live because as much fun as it is to go on holiday to far away places & overseas...at times some of the best places to explore are right under our noses.

Forgotten World Highway is one of 10 themed highways in New Zealand. It starts in Stratford and goes through picturesque regions of Taranaki and Ruapehu, ending up in Taumarunui. Only 150kms long, it is one of the most unique tourist attractions in New Zealand.
There are many points of interest on the Forgotten World Highway including beautiful town of Stratford, independent republic of Whangamomona (and historic Whangamomona Hotel), Mt Damper Falls, old tunnel, Lauren's Lavender Farm and, of course, amazing views at highest mountains of New Zealand's North Island - Mt Taranaki and Mt Ruapehu. It's great for people enjoying driving, hiking, sightseeing and other adventures. An absolute must-do activity for everyone travelling to New Zealand.
Close to the Forgotten World Highway you can find the largest alpaca farm in New Zealand - Nevalea Alpacas. You can meet these friendly animals here all year round and have a tour around the farm or feed alpacas.

Wilkies Pools & Dawson Falls, Egmont National Park - New Zealand's Biggest Gap Year
Day 50: Today is the first day with our WWOOF family and we’re heading to the beautiful Wilkies Pools and Dawson Falls in Egmont National Park.
Yesterday - Day 49 -
Tomorrow – Day 51 –
About this video:
Today is the first day we are spending with our WWOOFing family here in Taranaki. They are keen to show us the wild and wonderful Egmont National Park on the slope of Mt Taranaki.
We head to the Dawson Falls Visitor Centre where we start our first walk in the Egmont National Park, the Wilkies Pools Loop Track. We make our way through beautiful forest to the Wilkies Pools made of super clear water.
After playing games of hide and seek on the way back with the kids, we then move onto our next walk of the day to Dawson Falls in the Egmont National Park. This is a short walk through the forest down to an epic long-drop waterfall tumbling into the rock pools below.
Now we head from the Egmont National Park back to the farm where Robin is helping our WWOOF hose do some farm chores.
So what do you think of Wilikies Pools and Dawson Falls? Are they places you would go in the Egmont National Park?

How to Replace a Toilet Seat - Slow Close Toilet Seat
Subscribe and visit our weekly podcast for more tips
To replace a toilet seat you will need a large slotted screwdriver and an adjustable pliers. There are several styles on the market, but most will have a bolt and nut to hold the seat in place. Most of the hinges will also have a cover over the top of the bolt.
It is a simple project to unscrew the nut and pull out the bolts. I like to replace the old wooden seats with plastic, slow close seats. They are safer for kids and some styles have easy to remove hinges to keep the bowl clean.
