ISLANDE, ИСЛАНДИЯ, ICELAND - Mr.CHICOOL @ Mt. Esja March 2018 Highest peak: 914 m (2,999 ft)
Mt. Esja is one of the most iconic mountains in Iceland and it is hard not to notice this graceful mountain while visiting Reykjavík. The inhabitants of Reykjavík are extremely fond of mount Esja and pay a great deal higher price for real estate that have a nice view of the mountain.
But it’s not just the beauty of Mt. Esja that attracts. The mountain is in fact a very popular place to go hiking, especially amongst people living in the capital area. There are several paths you can choose from, differing in length and difficulty. Hiking Mt. Esja is a nice halfday trip and it’s ideal to go there if you want to view Reykjavík city from a mountain top.
Highest peak: 914 m (2,999 ft)
Difficulty: Medium
Duration: 2–5 hours, depending on the route
Gear: Good hiking boots, clothes according to weather

Reykjavik, Iceland - virtual tour
There are slides of Hallgrímskirkja, The Sun Voyager, Golden Circle, Harpa, Tjörnin, Fríkirkjan í Reykjavík, etc.
Reykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland. It is the world's northernmost capital of a sovereign state and is a popular tourist destination. It is located in southwestern Iceland, on the southern shore of the Faxaflói Bay. With a population of around 120,000, it is the heart of Iceland's cultural, economic and governmental activity.
Reykjavík is believed to be the location of the first permanent settlement in Iceland which, according to Ingólfur Arnarson, was established in AD 874. Until the 18th century, there was no urban development in the city location. The city was founded in 1786 as an official trading town and grew steadily over the next decades, as it transformed into a regional and later national center of commerce, population, and governmental activities. It is among the cleanest, greenest, and safest cities in the world.
During the Ice Age a large glacier covered parts of the city area, reaching as far out as Álftanes. Other parts of the city area were covered by sea water. In the warm periods and at the end of the Ice Age, some hills like Öskjuhlíð were islands. The former sea level is indicated by sediments reaching as far as 43 m above the current sea level. The hills of Öskjuhlíð and Skólavörðuholt appear to be the remains of former shield volcanoes which were active during the warm periods of the Ice Age.
After the Ice Age the land rose as the heavy load of the glaciers fell away, and began to look as it does today.
The capital city area continued to be shaped by earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, like the one 4,500 years ago in the mountain range Bláfjöll, when the lava coming down the Elliðaá valley reached the sea at the bay of Elliðavogur.
The largest river to run through Reykjavík is the Elliðaá River, which is non-navigable. It is one of the best salmon fishing rivers in the country. Mount Esja, at 914 m , is the highest mountain in the vicinity of Reykjavík.
The city of Reykjavík is mostly located on the Seltjarnarnes peninsula, but the suburbs reach far out to the south and east. Reykjavík is a spread-out city: most of its urban area consists of low-density suburbs, and houses are usually widely spaced. The outer residential neighbourhoods are also widely spaced from each other; in between them are the main traffic arteries and a lot of empty space.

Iceland - Reykjavik
Iceland is nordic Island full of high contrasts, where fire and ice co-exist, where dark winters are offset by the auroras borealis and where insular existence has spurred a rich and vibrant culture.
The capital and largest city is Reykjavík, with the surrounding areas in the southwest of the country being home to over two-thirds of the population.
Iceland is volcanically and geologically active and it is often characterised by its sand and lava fields, mountains, glaciers, and by the water falls and rivers that flow to the sea through the lowlands.
Here are some of the paces I visited.

Small Icelandic Towns #6 - The Beutiful Mosfellsbær
My small town series are meant to give you an idea about how it is to live in Icelandic small towns, without sounding like a tourist guide. My motto is to show them in different seasons trough drive-around videos, as they are, in every kind of mood and weather there is. Please tolerate with my work since I'm an amateur in film-making but practice makes perfect. My plan is to make a mini-documentaries over all Icelandic towns in the next years so this is far from end result. I use all my free time to record in different seasons, making info-texts and collecting feedback in order to make my material straight to the point with the information travellers seek while planing their trip to my country.
So enjoy Mosfellsbær and let me know in the comment section what you seek to know about my country and note that I'm not a tourist guide and don't wanna go the way to bring you the common cliche about my country. I just wanna speak out like I should to to a friend in my car. I will do voiceover soon for my video's and upgrading all material to 4K so your subscription is hugely apprecciated since I'm doing my work without any sponsorship.
