Mt. Fairview -- Lake Louise -- Amazing Views
We did Mt. Fairview and Saddle Mountain at Lake Louise on August 13th. This is just a steep hike with roughly 1000m elevation gain (9000' high) to the top of Fairview.
Saddleback Pass is about 1 hour 15 minutes to reach. It took us 2 hours to summit. Once back down at Saddleback Pass we headed up Saddle Mountain which only took roughly 15 minutes from the pass. Great Views even with a little bit of smoke from the B.C. forest fires.
This is a great hike if you want to expend minimal effort for amazing surrounding views of some very Big Peaks and of course the Victoria Glacier. Great views of Big Beehive, Niblock, Whyte, Temple, and many others.

Mt. Fairview: Lake Louise
On September 27, Sat, 2014, a group of people organized by CalgaryNewLife went to hike Mt. Fairview, on the east side of Lake Louise. This is one scene I shot when we reached the peak.

Fairview Mountain is located right next to beautiful Lake Louise and offers a picturesque 360 degree view of the area. A short forgiving hike with minimal scrambling gives even a newcomer to the rockies a rewarding experience.
My good friend Jill was visiting from back home in Ontario for a week so what better way to appreciate the mountains for the first time than to climb up to 2,744m!
I've created this video with the intent to aid others with knowledge of the hike from the trailhead at Lake Louise to the summit of Fairview Mountain.

Let's Hike: Mt Temple
Let's hike to the top of Mt. Temple, 9th highest peak in the Canadian rockies! Mt. Temple can be found towering over Moraine Lake in Bow Valley of Banff National Park, Alberta. On this particular day, weather was a factor with chances of thunderstorms and heavy rain possible in the afternoon. We left early to try to beat the weather but were caught in rain showers on the way to Sentinel Pass. Since there was no apparent lightning in the area, we pressed on and kept a wary eye on the horizon. However, as the day moved along the weather got nicer. The summit was obscured by clouds and fog, but the trip back down to the pass was in the sunshine with just a few passing showers.
Amazing trip with some amazing friends!

My 8th mountain summit this year. Fairview is definitely one of my favourite climbs. My rad group of friends made it even better ;) And from what I can recall, my first time visiting Lake Louise, that I can remember.

Spontaneous Lake Louise Trip! Winter at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise
Surprised Nat with a trip to Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada! We left from Los Angeles (LAX) on Friday, Nov. 8 and flew Air Canada to the Calgary Airport (YYC).
We stayed at Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel on Friday night, then took the Brewster Express from the terminal to Lake Louise (stopped in Banff along the way).
We stayed at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise on Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights, enjoying the hotel, the restaurants (Fairview, especially) and a hike around Lake Louise.
On Monday we took a day trip to Banff, where we checked out the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, and rode the Banff Gondola up to the top of the mountain (and took the boardwalk to the Sulphur Mountain peak in Banff National Park).
A great trip and we can't recommend the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the shoulder season/winter highly enough!
